WIP Autumn Coat

Wanting to try something different I decided to try a car coat... I checked out Interweave 2005 mag and saw a Crochet Retro Car Coat (http://www.royalyarns.com/ptrn/ITW/ITW-crochet-Fall-2005/Crochet-Car-Coat-ITW-CHTF05.html)... and decided I would try something along those lines... as always... can't follow a pattern and just working it my way... I did a cross stitch for the top part of the coat and sc for the remainder... I just finished the collar and working on the sleeves, which I decided I would do separate... I tend to work straight from the armhole.. I would like to put a lining in it and hope to get to a fabric store soon to check their selection.. I have 2 lbs of Caron Cape Code Blue yarn... the coat right now is 32 inches long

Very nice looking project. I'm sure it will look very nice in the Cape Cod Blue. It's a very lovely color.

I like that Interweave pattern but not the way the buttons lap over the button band. Your version looks great in the blue. Are you going to make those giant buttons?
