Okay, here's my first attempt at an adult-sized wearable, the jazzy boucle cardigan from January's Simply Creative Crochet. Done in Bernat Dark Rose with Natural trim. I made it to wear on the plane to my niece's graduation next month. Can I wear this in public? I look a little silly because I was stretching the mouse cord to take the photo, and the sweater may look wonky because I had to add 5 rows to the body and 5 rows to the sleeve so it would fit a real-sized woman and not a doll-sized woman (see my rant about this is the Help thread). No head because I haven't taken a shower yet and my hair is standing up on end. Hey, if I don't shower before I get on the plane, no one will realize the sweater is wonky because they'll be hiding their children from the Bride of Frankenstein (every curly-haired woman on here knows what I mean!). Honest opinions, now, please. I can take it. And sorry it's so big! Thanks, Pattyhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Clothing/Picture7.jpghttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/DesertCrocheter/Clothing/Picture8.jpg

Boy, we can be our own worst critics sometimes, eh? :lol

Your cardi looks wonderful, not wonky at all, and you definitely do NOT look silly! :hug I think you did a great job with it, and it is definitely worthy of public viewing, as is the model. :yes

As far as the hair thing goes, I can SO relate! You are most assuredly not alone there!

Wow, that looks really great! I was just thumbing through that magazine yesterday and trying to figure out if I would like that pattern if it weren't made in such acid-bright colors (lots of wacky color choices in that issue, I guess to make things look inteesting)...and the answer is yes. Beautiful work! Enjoy your trip!

Well, I think it's great! Wear it! It's nice to see what that pattern looks like in a different color. The colors in the magazine didn't appeal to me at all. I like yours much better. Nice job! :clap

I don't think you should wear it on the plane. You need to pack it up immediately, and send it to ME! I love it! The colors are beauiful, and you've done an excellent job with it.

You ladies are the best for my ego!!:hug As for the Bride hair, I had long curly hair till 2 years ago, but cut it to a shorter bob, then 2 years ago saw an ad for yogurt, I think it was, in a mag and tried it. Was okay, but I never really loved it. So for two years Minerva, who's been cutting my hair for about 14 years, cut this cut. I saw another 'do in More magazine in February, grew my hair out a little to accomodate it, and had the new 'do in late March. I loved it! Even my clueless coworkers noticed and complimented. Went for my 5-week cut last week, passed the compliments to Minerva, and she cut my old 'do. :eek Worse part is, I was in a rush to get a dog to the vet and then go to work, so I didn't even notice (I was customer no. 2, so this was first thing inthe morning). The next day my friend down the street said "Isn't that your old hair cut?" :eek Back to Minerva. But now it's too short to really cut the new 'do without scalping me, so I have it somewhere weird in between. My hair grows really fast, so I should be able to get another cut in before the graduation next month. For 10 years I had the same cut, because, really, there's so little you can do with curls, now I've had 3 hairdos in 1 week!!

As for the sweater pattern, it says intermediate level, but it's super easy, just V-stitches and a little decreasing and increasing. And even with adding rows, it took only 1 and 1/2 skeins of the Bernat, which are 5 oz. each.:hug to ya'll for me making me feel so good! Patty
