I made this for my mom from the SNB Happy Hooker book. My daughter is modelling it. I used RH Soft Touch in a dusty rose.

Funny you should ask...hmmm, problems....after I had finished the bolero I saw this link about corrections.

I wish I had seen it first. I don't think the front edge looks right...and after reading the NEW instructions to the front pieces I see where I went wrong.

Good luck with your projects from this book.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments. It is a fun pattern to make...more fun now that I found the newer instructions. I will make more...but not right now, it is almost too warm to crochet. Oh wait...there is always cotton, that is cooler. Problem solved!:hook

I've enjoyed seeing the many versions of this pattern that C'ville members have made. Yours is beautiful in the soft pink. The stitch definition is great. I can really see the fine workmanship that went into making this cardigan.:)

Has anyone made such a pattern in a sweater that closes with long sleeves....It would be so gorgeous...I can't find such a pattern but would love to....Anyone??????

You can make this pattern so it closes, originally I designed it to close at the front, if you check my journal link http://crohooker.livejournal.com/ you will see the assorted incarnations of this design and that it started out that way. The front half shell inc is what makes the difference. The length of the sweater is where you stop the repeats on the sleeves or body. One suggestion though, make sure the yarn you use is not a heavy one or the longer sweater will stretch or grow as it gets longer. I like to design pieces from the top down just so the crocheter has the option of making it longer!
