Hello! It's so funny because when I got this pattern, I posted on the forum trying to find people who had done this skirt! But, everyone had bought the pattern, but never actually got around to doing it (we all have those!).
Anyway, I *almost* finished the skirt, and was going to post here - and saw that HappyHookerandCrochetFreak (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27870)just posted hers as well! Just a funny coincidence! I LOVE her version!
I don't have any pictures of my sister wearing the skirt (she lives in Seattle)... but you can check out the pics of it lying on the ground for now. I just need to finish weaving in the ends. So, I guess this is an ALMOST finished project :)
You can also feel free to check out my blog...
Oh... http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4122/2258/200/betsy%27s%20skirt%201.jpg (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4122/2258/1600/betsy)I also haven't blocked it. I figure my sister can block it to her size when it arrives (she also knits/crochets!).
I got the pattern for this skirt here. (http://www.weirdmirror.org/patterns/spider.htm) I don't looooooove this pattern. It's fine, I did it... but I had some problems with the joining of the rounds. It turned out fine, but if my sister looks close enough, she'll be able to find the problem. Because of the many layers, I don't think that the mistake matters. I think that if I were to do it again for someone else, I would make it in different yarn and http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4122/2258/200/betsy%27s%20skirt%202.jpg (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4122/2258/1600/betsy)also change up the lace on the skirt. I think my sister will like it - and it will be a good skirt to wear in the Cold Seattle winter. It's made with Wool Ease and can be worn over a lighter skirt, leggings, or it can be worn alone (oooh la la!). Oh, I also had immense problems with the top of the skirt because no matter what I did, I couldn't get my stitching to match size wise with the pattern. So, I didn't follow the pattern for the top portion.

The bottom portion probably took me about a week. The top portion (non-lacy) hits at the upper thigh.

I don't think I could ever pull this look off, but I think it'll be perfect for her. Once it's blocked, it should hit to about mid-calf/ankle (the bottom is not straight, but wavy in length). If she doesn't mind modeling the skirt, I will post it here.
