Cozy Up

Materials:
1 ball Dale of Norway Sisik, or other sport weight yarn
H (5.00 mm) hook
Stitch marker
1 button (I used 10 mm bone)
sewing thread and needle for attaching the button

Directions:
The cozy is worked in a spiral throughout.

Round 1: Ch 13, working into the top two loops of the chain, hdc in third chain from hook. 2 hdc into the same chain, 1 sc into the next 9 ch, 3 hdc into last chain (15 sts). Working into the back ridge of the chains, hdc into the next 9 chains (24 sts).
Round 2: hdc into each stitch around. Mark the first hdc with your stitch marker to keep track of the rounds.
Repeat Round 2 eight more times, finish off.
Strap Row 1: Fold the cozy flat. You are going to want to join the yarn to the first of seven stitches that will be in the center of your cozy. This works out to leave five stitches for the sides and seven on each side for the strap.
Join yarn to stitch, chain 2, hdc in the next six stitches (7 sts)
Strap Row 2: ch 1, turn. hdc in next 7 sts, turn
Strap Rows 3 & 4: Repeat Row 2 two more times
Strap Row 5: ch 1, turn. hdc in next 3 sts, chain 1, skip next hdc, hdc in next 3 sts
Strap Row 6: ch 1, turn. hdc in next 7 sts, finish off.
Weave in ends.

Attach the button to the center of the third row from top of your cozy. Slip in your phone and enjoy!!

When you say pattern worked in a spiral does that mean I am supposed to join the beginning chain into a circle. I'm not that good at reading patterns and I'm a little confused. :thinking2 I really want to make this! Thanks so much for your help!!

You don't join with this method. What you'll do is when you get around to the first stitch that you made, you'll just keep going in hdc instead of joining.

I hope that helps! If you need any more, let me know. :)
