this sweater is made form the top down using a formula that i found on the web. i'm sorry i don't have the link right now. the bodice is hdc and the bottom is a ripple pattern. the beads on the tie are recyled glass from my trip to senegal last year. the nice thing about this top is that is emphasizes "the girls" and gracefully flows over "the belly". the yarn is "cotton universal" from my lys "wolle rodel". the colors are a bit washed out in the photo. this is my first true wearble. :)

I like! It'd be too hot for where I'm living, but for fall/winter, it'd be perfect beneath a thin jacket.

Was this the link you were talking about?

I've tried it before and it didn't turn out like I wanted. I will definitely give it another go.

That is stunning! Beautiful work!!!!

You know, all of those knitters out there that say that crochet wearables can't hug your curves like knit really should take a look at that beautiful, flattering top!

I love it.

I have to add me 2 cents too! That top turned out so well! I wondered about the pattern you used but I can see that it actually works out quite well. Your variations and colors are very flattering, somewhat of a "empire" style. BTW, your bathroom decor is also very lovely!:lol

I think your top turned out great. I happened upon that site a bit ago and started something and then frogged it, I wanted to do a v-neck and it just wasn't turning out correctly. I definately will try it again with a round neckline like you did. Very cute top!

Gorgeous! Very, very flattering style, great colorway - good choices all around! I love it.

I googled "cotton universal" but couldn't find that yarn. What weight yarn is it? Fingering? It looks thinner than worsted.

Great job!

Great job!

The yarn is a from a German yarn store Wolle Rodel. It's one of their "store brands." Its worsted weight.

I've been trying to do this by that formula and am so frustrated! My first round the "sides" are all even, but after that I can't seem to and up with the correct # on each side.:angry

Did you do yours in the round or did you join?

I love your top! Great details: the raglan sleeves, the tie with beads, the colourful yarn, the superb fit, the fact that you invented it yourself... This is an excellent piece of crochet work!!
