Ok here it is I have made lots of stuff for my kids, skinny sister ect. but never something for myself. So I took my measurements and this is what i came up with for myself. I actually like it alot. Let me know what you think!!:cheer http://www.freewebs.com/suzabellacreations/DSCF1944-medium.jpghttp://www.freewebs.com/suzabellacreations/DSCF1946_edited-medium.jpg

My next one will be much longer like a real chemise and then I have to figure how to make the lace up corset to go over top. Who knows how practical this will be but I want it!!!!!!

Oooo I ove it! Im a big girl too, and I think we need more patterns in our sizes that are cute and youthful like this one. BRAVO!!

Suzan, that is absolutely beautiful!! You did a great job. I think a lace up corset would be absolutely wonderful!! Let us know how the designing is going on that!!
I too am plus sized and obssessed with rennaisaince/medievil clothing as well .. and am working on designing a full length hooded cape in crochet.

June 22nd, 2006, 04:25 PM
I love it!! I would love a copy of the pattern.
I'm a plus size and I have a hard time buying things for myself because my top half is smaller than my bottom half---if it fits on top it's too tight for my rump and if it fits my rump it's gi-normous on top. (I need a boob job!!! or I could lose weight---ha,ha)

you look very good in this.

I really like this romantic, feminine look. you can be really proud wearing this. :yes

I would love to make this for my current shape (still breastfeeding and therefore a little bit heavy in the upper part ;))

June 22nd, 2006, 04:44 PM
I am writing this up right now. Should be ready to post in a couple of days. It was really easy and should be good for everyone because I made the bodice part purposely big, then i threaded through some ribbon on the top row and cinched in to my perfect size. Suzan

June 22nd, 2006, 06:02 PM
Very pretty! I agree, looks just like a chemise. And what's nice is the straps are wide enough to hide bra straps. Even less endowed (okay, let's be real, unendowed gals like me, but amazingly they're still moving south with middle age anyway) gals like me prefer tops that don't show the straps (shows how old we are! :lol ). Nice job! Patty

Suzabella, could you relate the number of beginning chains in the pattern to the finished dimension of the lower waist/hip size? I can see how each round changes in size relative to the first, and wanted to see if I could make your pattern to fit me by starting with the appropriate number of chains. I'm a 1X, about 44"/42"/44" - perhaps it would fit as is? Also, what was your gauge? (i.e. some number of shells = some number of inches?) Thank you for writing up your beautiful design! :ty :nworthy

suzan720
June 26th, 2006, 03:44 PM
I am coming up with 4 double crochets per inch and 1 shell per inch also my beg chain was 52 inches in length. Each round increases by 16 double crochets. Suzan

Suzan I printed out thie pattern and I looked at it and I don't understand what rounds 24-42 are telling me to do. What round exactly Am I supposed to repeat? :lol

suzan720
June 28th, 2006, 08:49 PM
hold on let me check this is my 1st time ever writing a pattern!? Typo in my pattern SORRY You are repeating round 23 for rounds 24-42 Thanks for the question. Also you could go longer than 42 rounds It is really your choice on how long you want it. Off to fix my website.

July 23rd, 2006, 08:35 AM
That's just awesome! I've put all other projects on hold to make one for myself.

Question- what size is it? And where are you starting from- the neck? WHen I made my ch 206, it fit around my hips- I know you cinch the neck, but is that too, too big, or right on target? I'm a 18/20, 1X/sometimes 2X- and I'd hate to make this and have it too big.

I'm using LB Micro Spun, which could affect my gague, I'm sure (but it's the most compatable I had when I started it at 1:30am this morning...)

Thanks thanks thanks!!! :manyheart
