View Full Version : Chaco, the parrot puppet!

I made a puppet! He's huge, about 11" high, not counting the tail. I used a lining, which means that he's stuffed and can be used as a stuffed animal when he's not being a puppet. Only the mouth is movable (he's my first puppet, I thought I'd stick with easy). Anyway, here he is! And yes, sticking him at the end IS a ploy to get people to read my really long post. :lol
Edit: He's my own design. I usually make up my own patterns. :)

Oh that is cute!

I use to do puppets with a church group when I was in high school. It was lots of fun.

That is a cool parrot! Its amazing that he's a puppet too! My kids would love him, is he your own pattern or one available somewhere? I would love to make one of him

Thank you! I will be writing up a pattern for it, I just have to make a lot of diagrams! :eek This is the first pattern I've done that I'd classify as Advanced, because the assembly is pretty involved. I think he's awesome, though, and hopefully will be the first of several puppets (It was such a fun challenge!).

Your parrot is really fantastic. If it were bigger, it would make a great hat for a Jimmy Buffett fan. Perfect accessory for a parrothead.

This is what I like about this forum. We get to look at GREAT projects like this one! Your puppet is FABULOUS! Three-dimensional crochet is not easy and I take my hat off to you for such a wonderful design. You're in good company with all the other gals here who make wonderful animals (you know who you are!):)
