I have some items I want to sell. I would prefer to sell them at something like a craft show. However, I am having trouble finding any for my area. How do you find out about craft shows in your area far enough ahead of time to apply?

The easiest thing to do is call the Chamber of Commerce or find their website for your county. They will have lists of all the upcoming fairs and festivals in your area. Then check surrounding counties, too. Google is excellent, also. You can do a search for 'craft shows in ...' and all kinds of things will come up. Just make sure you're looking at the info for the current year. Lots of times I'll find listings online for festivals and things from prior years.

Bethy,
Buy the local newspapers and read read read. I have been seeing alot in my local papers lately because the fall shows are always everywhere around here. They are plentiful until christmas. Check out your local churches. We also have a cable tv channel that has local advertisements running 24/7 and sometimes when I am really bored I will sit a watch through them all and usually find one or two.
You can also try looking Here (http://www.festivals.com/) they list by state.

Good Luck,

this is a good site too... you choose the month, then choose the state. Pretty good list. I use it to find craft shows to do.
