I was surfing around crochet.about.com (http://crochet.about.com) today and discovered this stitch -

I loved the look of it so I wanted to share. :)

What a coincidence! My sister just made a tan thread purse with that exact stitch, so I've seen it crocheted in person and it's lovely! :cheer

This is my favorite stitch from the About.com's archives. I made an afghan for my bed with it. (One of the few pieces I've ever kept for myself).

I didnt read into detail, but what is the difference between the solid shell and the shell stitch? My halter top, as well as the hot pink poncho I made, were done in the shell stitch.

I think the shell stitch is more open. It looks like the solid shell stitch is a shell worked into the space on the prior row that is left open in the shell stitch. :huh Now if I haven't completely confused you, as I have myself, I hope this answers your question. :)

LOL I will have to look at it in more detail later to compare the two.

Love the way the yarn pattern is so unpredictable in your leg warmers. I love using verigateds that have very small areas of color so one doesn't end up in stripes of blocks of color. That pattern seems to help break up the color blocks, too. :))

I made a sweater with this stitch. Love it!
