man oh man, can i vent???
i'm just about tired of the lack of appreciation for the gifts i've made. >:
it seems like everyone is asking me to make this and that, but noone wants to take the time to help me go through patterns, pick out yarn, even respond to emails asking specific questions about the item..... just presto***give me what i asked for :box
yes, i love to do it, but is a little involvement too much to ask from the giftee????:mad
okay, i'm done.
does anyone else have unappreciative recipients???

Sorry to say - you're not the first.. and not the last to experience this :(
I wrote about a similar thing on my blog a few days back. "Mindless people". :mad

Stupidity has no limits! Just keep up your good work - give them what they want and don't let them bring you down! If they don't get involved - they can't complain!

I will go out of my way to make something for people, but when they can't even tell me what colors they want I tend not to be so interested in the project any longer. I wish it would be acceptable to be just as rude in return when someone isn't willing to help a little. Well, not really, but even just to remind them that we actually create the item, not just go out and buy it complete. grrrrr <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif" />

I think we have all experienced unappreciation in some form or another. I felt really bad for my Mom, she had crocheted an afghan for my x-sister-in-law, and she used it in the dog's bed outside :cry I can understand how you feel.

My mom is a very patient person, but it did make her very careful as to who she makes a gift for! You would of have just vented here :) and then got your needle out and started a new project.

I can appreciate your annoyance. However, if they persist on not giving you info, perhaps they are not as interested as you believed. You've just saved yourself a lot of time!! I'd rather expend my efforts to those who appreciate them than otherwise!

I once made a bunch of washcloths and then found out that my Mom and sister don't like them (well, Mom found them difficult to use due to her smaller hand size; other sis just didn't like them). I gave them all to my brother, who, surprisingly, prefers them. Last month, I found out my other sister bought a bunch of crocheted washcloths. Didn't know I made them. Oh well. Guess I know what to make her besides towel toppers and afghans now. Actually all 3 appreciate what I make, but I find I have to rethink what they USE vs. what I like.

I'm running out of relatives to make afghans for! When I finish this scrap afghan for my cousin, all my female relatives will have one or more! Only a few of my male relatives get them (actually have gone out of their way repeatedly to ask for one).
