You guys have got to check this out! I found Bonnie's photo album through the Crochet Partners (http://www.crochetpartners.org/) mailing list, which I just joined a few days ago. I can only agree. I find it very attractive to "enclose" the exuberant free-form in more formal squares... Hmmm... Gives lots of ideas...

Crochetgrl, it is going without a pattern, but more than just an idea. You crochet random shapes... whatever comes out of your hook. I know that doesn't make much sense. Check out this page, What is freeform? (http://www.eject.com.au/e-motive/prudence/whatis.htm)
