Problems with Pattern for Here's my Heart

I am currently working on the pattern Here's my Heart which is from the Annies Attic "Award Winning Afghans"

The pattern book has a lot of mildew on it and pages have been stuck together.

Where my problem is, On the fourth border section, Even though the text is clear, the pattern does not make sense, I have been trying to work on this now for about 2 days and no matter what I do, it does not look right. the pattern is made up of sc and ch1 spaces.

If anyone has done this, could you let me know please if you had any problems. I cannot move forward onto the next border because of this

I dont have the book so can you write out the bit of the pattern you have done already, and then write out the bit you are having the problem with.

Row 1: join with sc in end of row 25 on centre heart, 2sc in same row, 3 sc in next 7 rows, ch 1 turn (24)

Row 2: sc in first sc(ch1, skip next sc, sc in next sc) 11 times, sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 3: sc in first sc, [ch 1 sc in next ch sp) across with ch 1 sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 4 Sc in first sc, sc in next ch sp [ch 1 skip next sc, sc in next ch sp ]across with ch 1, sc in last sc ch 1 turn
Row 5 sc in first sc, sc in in next ch sp [ch1, sc in next ch sp] across to last 2 sc, ch 1 skip next sc, sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 6 Sc in first sc, ch 1, sc in next ch sp [ch 1, sc in next ch sp] across to last 2 sc, ch 1 skip next sc, sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 7 sc in first sc, ch 1 sc in next ch sp [ch 1 sc in next ch sp] across with a sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 8 sc in first sc, skip next sc [ch 1, sc in next ch sp] across with sc in last sc, ch 1 turn

Row 9- 24 – repeat rows 3 – 8 2 ½ times
Row25 Sl St in first 5 sc and chain, sc in next ch spa [ch 1 , scin next ch sp] 14 times, ch 1 turn

Row 26 Skip first sc, sc in next c sp [ ch1 sc in next ch sp] 11 times ch 1 turn

Row 27 Skip 1st sc, sc in next ch sp [ch1, sc in next ch sp] 8 times fasten off
