Dina/Villager Bear

I have started Dina's really cute bear.
I'm new to the list, this is my first crocheted Bear.
Does anyone know how in Dina's pattern we connect the head and body???

My guess is that you just sew it on:think ...that's what I did for my parakeet pattern :hen and most of the other animals I do:hook :lol

Ths for your input. I thought I'd just gather both ends and go from there. Maybe i'll sew the arms on first???? Wish me luck.
