I am going to stat crocheting some pillows for my room and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a crochet along for them? They are real easy and depending on the size of the pillow, only about one small skein per pillow. This cal probably won't start til tuesday or wednesday though!

Oh, your post just reminded me that I've been thinking of making a small travel pillow for my daughter, who frequently falls asleep in the car. I may join this- but probably not for another week or so (want to get some Christmas stuff out of the way.)

I would really be interested, but can't see starting it till after Christmas. If a CAL starts after then, I could participate.:lol

Any free patterns to share? I might join in too. I'm off next week and will have time while I'm catching up on my soaps.

Ok, I am making the striped travel pillow (http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/free/pillows/f119001travelpillow.shtml) that I found on CPC. It is for my daughter to use in the car so her head doesn't flop around when she falls asleep. :lol

I have a book named Big Book of Scrap Crochet Afghans from House of White Birches. In there is a pattern that [because of lack of yarn] I made into a floor pillow. Other than that, I followed the directions completely. Here it is! TFL

Oh my gosh! That is so cute! Would you mind if I copied you? LoL When I did a search for neck pillows the donut one was the only one that came up. My daughter is 3 and she would absolutely love that one, plus it looks like it would support her head more when it falls down. :lol

Stacey ... copy away! I'm actually doing this one for my 3 year old grandson. He always falls asleep in the car. We're hoping this will stop the Bobble-Head Baby! Just a hint though, I've run a drawstring [I doubled the yarn] through the part of the body that goes toward the neck. That way it can be tightened for now and loosened or taken out as he grows.
Can't wait to see yours!

What a great idea! I will have to see about that. My daughter is on the small side so it would be nice if I could make it adjustable.
I didn't have any sport-weight so I am using one strand of chunky. If this one works out I will be making another one for my Goddaughter, for Christmas. Hopefully I will have time between all of the other things I am making.

How is everyone?
I have one cat body finished and halfway through a second one. I figured I will just wait until the bodies are all finished (need to make 3,) then stuff them.

I wanted to share with you something that I found this weekend. HL has actual neck pillow forms. I'm going to get one and re-do mine using the form for the bulk of the 'stuffing'. Oh and I had our little 3 year old try his on for size ... it was pretty nice. He then had to show everyone just how it 'works'!

Thank you for thinking of me. Unfortunately we do not have an HL around here so I will have to run over to Joann's or WM to see if they carry them. If not at least WM has poly-fil for cheap ($2)- at Michael's yesterday it was almost $8 for a 20-oz bag! :eek

Well ... it's still in the bag! I've been busy finishing up gifts for our gran'girls 1st birthday. I think it'll be good ... I maybe able to get to it later this weekend? I will let you know!

Good luck! I have one body finished and stuffed, the legs made and stuffed. Just have to sew them on and make the face. It turned out pretty cute but not as curved as I had hoped. I wish I could find those pillows, too. Maybe online somewhere.

Or, do the drawstring idea that I was originally ... and may still do. I still haven't done the pillow form yet ... it's sitting here right next to me; just daring me to do it!

Oh how adorable!! I bet your grandson loved it!
Great news- I've found pillow forms at Bed, Bath, and Beyond! I am thrilled! :clap I stuffed one body already but it is much too round and looks like it would be very uncomfortable to use in a car seat. So I will probably have to wait a week or two, but I am going back to get 2 of the forms to finish up the two bodies I already have completed. I will post pics when they are done. :hook

He hasn't gotten it yet! Haven't seen him since the 1st part of December. They will be coming this weekend for DHs b-day. He'll get it then. I sent a pic to his mommy, she showed him and his sister ... of course she wants one too!

Id love to join. Been thinking of making my mum a pillow for her back. The ones you buy in the stores are too small and short. I like to make one that could cover most of her lower back.

Welcome!! This CAL has been very quiet lately but you are more than welcome to join! Do you have a pattern yet or are you just going to wing it?
I really need to get my tush over to Bed, Bath, and Beyond for my pillow forms...my daughter keeps carrying around the cat "body" and it just looks wrong. :lol
