Alisha-- You're welcome! :)

Julie-- You too? I was haunting it...literally. And yes, I squealed when I noticed my Bloglines had something new and Kim said Go! to the new issue on Crochet Me's blog. Believe me, I was gone. :D!

Elizabeth: I :heart that bag too. Of course I can't pick a favorite, they were all interesting.

May I close with: I can't wait to see the next issue. (Only two looooong months go!) :wink

She posted to her blog about 15 minutes after I left to get beaten at Scrabble. (I've discovered it's best to know I'm going to get beaten in advance, it makes the few times I win that much better.) It's a great collection of patterns yet again, and so many of them I'm sure she had her hands full getting it ready. Fabulous job Kim!! :clap

From the pictures of the gifts that various ladies had received from "elves" (or an elf). Or, I'm sure I at least heard about them, even if I didn't see a picture. I'm pretty sure I saw pictures, though.

This one is a little different than the ones that Donna made for the Christmas Wish List participants. I like both of them though... truely, I'm not sure which ones I like the best. I'll have to try them I guess. :heart

From the pictures of the gifts that various ladies had received from "elves" (or an elf). Oh, those! They were just hemp cord with beads tied at each end. I would never have had time to do enough crocheted ones for the whole list. :p If you missed the pics, you can see them here (http://www.yarntomato.com/2005/01/book-thongs.html). :D!

I like this latest issue. Actually, I went straight to the craft shop and got myself a ball of size 10 thread, a size7 hook and some beads for the book thong! It is my first time working on such teeny tiny thread ... I plan to make some for my friends back in Hong Kong. I am quite sure they would love this. <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/heartpump.gif" />

Hi Donna,
I have finished my first book thong. Your instructions are easy and clear to follow. I have post pictures of it on my blog (Feb 14 entry). You can go and have a look.

I was REALLY impressed with this e-magazine, and am itching to try my hand at several of the projects posted there. But Meeps insisted that a toy for her MUST be first! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

So, Sunday, I whipped up a Mousie for her using the pattern from Jo Anne that was posted in the latest issue. I didn't have the specific hemp called for, just a ball of "regular" hemp that I'd bought several years ago for some jewelry-making projects, but I figured that would work just fine - and it did! She didn't specify a hook size to use, but I guessed that I'd want a fairly tight stitch (especially since I intended to pack it with the Meepster's favorite herb!), so I used an E, using an old plastic hook so I wouldn't ruin any of my good hooks with the heavy texture of the hemp. It's a good thing too because some of the stitches were so tight to make (especially in those beginning rounds) that it really put alot of stress on the hook. I'm not a real fast crocheter, but from start to finish (and with the ever-helpful Meeps lending a paw with yarn rearranging <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/Loco.gif" />), it only took me about an hour! My mousie didn't come out quite as bullet-shaped as the model in the pattern, but Meeps loves it all the same.

Keeping my fingers crossed this works, here's the pics I took before she took off with it...

Okeedokie, well that didn't work (will have to take it up in the "help me!" thread elsewhere <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/sherlock.gif" />), so let's try some hyperlinks instead...

(well, now I'm clueless. I don't know why these aren't working like they should. To heck with it, I'm leaving 'em just the way they are. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/mad.gif" />)

Right after I took that last picture, she batted her new toy out of the room and proceeded to chase it all over the house. I think she <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" /> it. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/clap.gif" />

Goldi, it appears that you have HTML selected (up there above where you type your post). You need to have ezCodes selected instead.

I copied and pasted exactly what you have and here's what it looks like with ezCodes selected. The first link is fine, but the second two go to your whole photo album instead of the actual photos.

Well, that's totally strange! The code I left in my message was what photobucket generated for me and which I copy-pasted without changing anything. I will fool around with this over on the scratch pad (and try to remember to check that formatting line above - I'm still kinda new to this forum-posting game) before trying to post the thumbnails again.

Now, as far as the second two links... Doing a mouseover on them and comparing the links displayed with the lines I posted, I noticed that this was shown as part of the link:

action=view&current=

and it seems like the part after "view" dropped off or got changed. I copied the hyperlinks into an email composition window and rewrapped it (which converts hyperlinks to displayed links in my system) and it shows this after "view":

%C2%A4t

I know you didn't change anything, so I guess we'll just have to write this one off as yet another unsolvable cybermystery! :thinking2 :shrug

In the meantime, I'll head over to the Scratch Pad and see if I can work out the kinks, once I do, I'll be back to post the pics of my finished project from the magazine... :)

Okay, looks like I've got it figured out, with Donna's help. So, I'm gonna give this another try. My (or rather Meeps's) Mousie, from the pattern provided by Jo Anne in the latest edition of Crochet Me! Here's the link to the pattern:
www.crochetme.com/Feb_Mar...t_toy.html (http://www.crochetme.com/Feb_Mar_2005/patt_cat_toy.html)

And here's what I came up with...

And a shot of Meeps checking out her new toy, before she took off with it!

Thanks Donna! The mouse continues to make the rounds of the house, so I think it's a hit, lol! I find myself tripping over it in odd places.

That Darn Cat! :D!

I'm anxious to try out some of the other patterns too... :artist

I'm a little late with this (I thought I'd emailed you about it a couple of weeks ago but actually sent it to the wrong address...just realized it yesterday, LOL) but...

Donna, I love the book thong! I never thought I'd work with thread, but as soon as I saw it I ran right out to get the supplies and had my first one made that afternoon! It was only the second project I've ever done (completed, at least), and your instructions were excellent! Since then I've made a total of 3, but I still don't have one of my own, since I keep giving them away! My last one is posted on my blog.

Thanks again! :not Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
