Today, I went to the store to pick up the new BH&G Simply Creative Crochet. While was happily taking it off the shelf, I noticed a new magazine. It is called Woman's Day Specials Quick & Easy Knitting & Crocheting. I am such a sucker :oops for premiere issues, so I picked it up! It is really good. I like it. They have these really cute animal themed scarves and lots of other neat projects.
I hadn't heard any mention of it before, so I thought I would let you all know about it. :bounce
BTW, I still got the BH&G Simply Creative Crochet in addition to this magazine. :)h

Aw, Love to Craft- - you beat me to it. I was gonna post about this mag too!! It is good, isn't it? I featured it on my blog this moring after I bought it and recommend you all go out and get it. I love that they give equal time to crochet as well as knit projects!! verrrry cool. :clap
Great projects for gifts this holiday season for everyone, babies, kids, teens and adults!! You can't beat that

Was this in the magazine section or up front with the registers? I'm hoping to hit either Target or CVS tonight and want to make sure I keep an eye out for it. :)

If there is one, I want to know, too!
I wish I could get to see all these cool crochet magazines coming out now! Would somebody be willing to pick me up a copy and send it to me? I will pay shipping and the cost of the magazine, of course.

The magazine has womansday.com/specials (http://womansday.com/specials) as a website address. I checked it out before posting and if you go to "On Sale Dates" it will list it as being on the shelves 10/05. That is the extent of the info on it. :<>
I never need an excuse to drool over the goodies at Target and being that it's the only place that I've seen either magazine and they have both :cloud9 , I'll make a trip tomorrow, pfirsch, and pick them up for you. :)) I'll post as soon as I get them. :yay

I'll have to take a trip to Barnes & Noble. No stores around here carry crochet or knitting magazines. Do they think no one crochets in NY?

Rebecca, I like how even though this one is Knitting & Crocheting, the number of projects are about equal, in number and quality. There are knit & crochet sweaters, afghans, hats/scarves, and kid items. Plus, it uses only Coats & Clark yarns (Red Heart, TLC, Aunt Lydias, etc) that are easily found at the typical craft store.
I'll pick up two just in case. :) If you find one and someone else can't, I'll have one available. :sheep

Don't know about yours, but I picked up my copy at good ol Walmart. Check it out, maybe they have it at your local one. I think it is a good mag, well worth the bucks, but for sanity's sake, flip through it before you buy--that buyers remorse can cost you a skein of yarn!:bang

I picked it up in the magazine section at Wal-Mart. I saw a picture of it on some blog I was looking at yesterday from a web ring I was following. Problem is, I can't remember which blog, or which webring. :irked
They gave a website address (which someone already posted above). I tried to see if they had any info on it there, but it didn't. Bummer!
Hopefully, you can get your hands on it cause it is really good!

my walmarts just too far away. (a closer one is supposed to open soon)
The walmart near my mom never has any crochet magazines either! (or any good fashion/beauty mags) Don't understand why.

Found that blog I saw!! :cheer2 I followed the Acrylics Anonymous webring from my blog moving in *previous* direction and I found that blog that had the picture of this magazine.
ladybean.tblog.com/ (http://ladybean.tblog.com/)
Go down a bit and it is there. (I hit the *page down* button 4 times to get it.)
I hope this helps you in your search at the store.
BTW, there are 2 Wal-Marts in my town, and only one carries crochet magazines. I learned that the hard way by going to one Wal-Mart *specifically* looking for a crochet magazine, and them not having it. :irked But, when I went to the other one, they had it! :th Go figure!
I have also seen crochet magazines (not this specific one) at grocery stores. That always makes for a shopping treat! :)h

Yay! I'm glad you got it so quickly, Rebecca! :cheer2 I hope that you've gotten a chance to look at it now!
Deb, aren't the animal scarves the cutest? My daughter wants the kitty one in black and white to match her BIG fluffy real kitty. :fluffy Have you felt the Cara Mia that the pattern calls for? It's extremely soft, perfect for a scarf. :)h

They are all over in my area - I've seen them at Target, Walmart, all the Supermarkets and Barnes & Noble. If you haven't seen a picture of the cover, look for a white magazine with bright blue lettering.
If anyone has trouble finding it, I can get a couple to mail to people.

I found this magazine! (Still hunting for BH&G Simply Crochet)..look closely at all of the projects, several I thought were knitting patterns were actually crochet (yeah!)
Took it with me to the local very nice coffee bar..and people who haven't a clue how to crochet or knit were oohing and ahhing over the projects, even one of the guys liked the crocheted man's sweater (next to the poncho).
A woman who works there wants me to teach her how to crochet! I love to teach this wonderful art, so we are meeting on Tuesday for her first lesson.
Anyway, great magazine, target audience seems to be teens and twenty-somethings:) , but I still found several things I wouldn't mind making and wearing. Just great to see another good crochet/knit magazine.
I have the questionaire filled out ready to mail..hopefully we can all send it in to show just how many are ready for a magazine of this quality!
