I think it's great, but I haven't taken the time to read much of the articles and such. Just looked at the patterns. There's a long thread where we discussed the mag here (http://p084.ezboard.com/fcrochetvillefrm19.showMessage?topicID=26.topic).

Ooh, Rebecca! Would you share pictures of your progress on that jacket? I think my daughter would love it also. :)h

I'm researching yarn for the skirt on the front. My DH thought it was hot until I told him that there's a liner underneath. :ha He still likes it, just not as much as before. :p

yes, i'll take some pics of the yo yo's
i also researched the yarn they used and it is a sportweight.
i went really cheap and bought RH sport when it was on sale for 88cents at HL a week or so ago.
the colors i chose:
hot pink, dark purple, lime green, baby pink, red, bright yellow
8) watch for the pics in a day or so... i still don't know how to upload from the new camera and hubby is VERY busy with finals in one of his classes. sorry, it'll take a bit.:pig

No prob, Rebecca. :) Those colors sound fabulous so I can't wait to see them. :) I just want to know how you find the time to get this stuff done! I have two little ones at home that run me ragged. :faint

I may be going against the pack, but I feel like Vicki in that they made crochet out to be some whacked out hobby they would reluctantly give a try. I bought the mag. but regret it now. I just don't think the price was worth admission. Frankly, I liked the patterns in the adds more than the ones they chose to publish. Live and Learn.

I saw it at JoAnn's and couldn't decide if I wanted it or not.:thinking1 But just for future reference, if you buy these magazines/books at JoAnn's you can get them with a coupon and get 40 or 50% off. That makes the price not so bad.

I figured I'd chime in. I loved the IK magazine. Sure it's from the perspective of knitters -- it's a knitting magazine. Many of the patterns didn't jump out at me, but I found the issue as a whole to be the best, most professionally laid out, interesting crochet magazine I've gotten my hands on. Also, I found the articles informative. My impression of articles in most other magazines is that they aren't very interesting or informative (or abundant, for that matter).

Yeah, I gotta agree with Kim. Interweave Knits is just that, an established knitting magazine. Earlier this year they did a pull-out crochet section which was good, and I think the crochet magazine was really well done. I would have rather seen more ads geared toward crochet than knitting, but other than that I had few complaints with the magazine. For a first issue it wasn't bad at all. I hope they do more. It isn't possible for them to have everything in it that I wish a crochet magazine would have, and goodness knows there are quite a few I won't buy because they don't generally appeal to me. I recommend buying the IK Crochet magazine, because a year from now you might wish you did. Especially if they do another one. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" />

hi i love the patterns, just thought that the tone was a little condinsending about crochet. i know i have run into several women who knit( i also knit) and they all act like we are below them. the crochet fashions are out of this world this year and i enjoy making many things. just thought i would give my opinion. have a nice evening vicki:D

all i can say is to each his own .. i absolutely loved this magazine and for the amount of patterns inside the price wasnt bad.. the one book i have seen so much hype over that i was disappointed in is "hip To Crochet" out of all the projects in there only about 2 caught my eye enough to make me want to do them .. in the IK Crochet edition i want to do almost all of them .. so suppose its all a matter of what you like or want to try ... not every one can like every thing.. that is why when i got the chance to LOOK thru the Hip To Crochet before buying it .. i was very relieved that i didnt just jump on the bandwagon and buy it ..

I suppose also i have been very lucky as to have never ran into a knitter who thought what i was doing was any less than what she was doing.. as a matter of fact just the other day i met a lady in Michaels that knits who asked me to teach her to crochet because she always envied the fact crocheters have "a million" different stitches and knitters dont.. anyway that is my 2 cents for what it was worth ..

I agree about Hip to Crochet. I am also a knitter, and I enjoyed Hip to Knit, and was really looking forward to Hip to Crochet. I thought it was kind of sloppy compared to Hip to Knit...nothing was really very different than any other crochet book we've always had.
