I hope one of you can help me.
I want to find a doily pattern like my grandmother used to make.
It had ruffles that stood up.
I know how she made them stand up, I used to help her do that but at that time I wasn't able to crochet them. And when she was teaching me I never did anything that complicated.
If anyone has a pattern I would like to try and see if I could do one.
Thanks,
Corky

An easy answer! Crochet Pattern Central has a ton of free doily patterns. Go to http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/doilies.php. A few within that site you might want to look at are: Aneomone, Oval Pineapple Ruffle, Oval Ruffled Doily, Carnation Ruffle, Cat's Cradle, and Party Frills. There are undoubtedly more just within that section of CPC. Good luck and have fun!

It would help if you have a pic of it. I have many antique crochet books, and if it is a real old pattern you might not be able to find it on the sites the ladies suggested. I'd check those sites first, and if it isn't there, post us a pic of it

I wish I could post a picture but I don't have one of them.I looked in the 2 sites but didn't find one like I remember.
I'll try to describe what I remember.
It was round and the middle was the size of a small saucer, that is what we put in the middle to make that part of it lay flat while it dried and the ruffles we used 6 or 8 coke bottles to hold the ruffles while they dried.
If I remember right the ruffles came up at least half way up the coke bottles.
That is the best I can remember . I don't remember the pattern , I am sure there was one.
She made them to make extra money so as far as I know she sold most of them. And I can't find anyone in the family that kept any.I just thought someone here might have a pattern for one of them I could try.
