When I was in Florida over Easter weekend, I taught my 9-year old niece to crochet. I wish I'd had more time with her; we just did the really basic stuff. I hope she keeps up with it, and I'd like to send her a book and maybe some yarn. Can anyone recommend a good book for teaching kids to crochet?

There is a book that's called "Cool Stuff Teach Me to Crochet" by Leisure Arts (LA 3285). My 11 year old cousin has it and loves it. Here's a link to it at the LA website - www.leisurearts.com/crafts_needlework/item_detail.asp?item_num=3285&search=1 (http://www.leisurearts.com/crafts_needlework/item_detail.asp?item_num=3285&search=1). It gives you a different project for each stitch that you learn.

I bought that one for myself. :) It has color pictures and more complete instructions than other "adult" books.
