You could make other things like a mini purse, a lipbalm holder, a book cover, etc. Tons of things to be found at CPC. :)

I think a lot of teachers appreciate gifts that the kids can use. Finger puppets and dress up clothes might be ideas.

My goal this year is to make each teacher an apple cozy :)

Being a teacher, my vote is for book marks. Ones that can be shared with the children. Ones for personal and professional use. You wouldn't believe the amount of required reading. But that's okay. It's to make us smarter for the kids.

When I was a teacher, I always appreciated a good tote bag. Perhaps if I had taught longer I would have gotten sick of them, but I found this apple tote bag pattern you might like:

I crochet hat and scarves for my grandchildrens teacher's, some like their favorite football team colors or for those not liking football, what ever makes them happy, they love them. This is something personal they can use and does not collect dust. lol. As for the apple, annies attic just had a thread apple the other day. Personally I do make things they do not want or can not use.

This is late, but it gets harder when they are in middle school and have 8 teachers. I am making quick scarves in school colors with yarn I got on sale (less than 2.50 each scarf). I wish I had more time and I would try something cooler...
