I actually started working that one in cross stitch from a pattern. Note the word STARTED. Way too big of a project for my short attention span! LOL

There's a tiger afghan in Vanna's Favorite Afghans A to Z. I couldn't find a picture, but it's not nearly as detailed as the horse.

I found another horse pattern. It's done in afghan stitch, but you could probably substitute scs. http://www.designsbyjami.on.ca/horse.htm
