Kite Bookmark

I've had this pink stuff (it's cotton but I don't know what size) for years and never did anything with it. Last night I made a granny square, added a long chain "tail", a tassle and a little bow (which turned out odd) and gave it to my mum as a bookmark :)

It was a bit spur-of-the-moment but I think it's cute. I might try some more with the proper thread I have...

Thanks - it certainly didn't take very long :) I think they'll be handy to have around for us as we all read a lot in this house.

I think it would look a lot nicer if a fancier or prettier granny square was used, instead of the very basic pattern I started with. I've got some lovely patterns I am going to try soon, when I get some other projects out of the way (with the better thread, too) :)
