I love this pattern - I'm planning to make tons more and use them as the bow on Christmas gifts, one red and one green - - - lets see - I only need to make about 17 more green and 20 red - lol :hook The purple is #10 thread and #5 hook as called for in the pattern, the green is a #7 hook.

Very, very cool! And.. I love your idea of using them as ties on a gift.
Is that a pattern you can share? Or, if it's in a book or a paid pattern, would you give us the source.
Thanks!

Pretty! I'll have to make some for myself sometime, I'm constantly losing my bookmarks. That's a good idea about using them for bows too!

These look like easy bookmarks to make, and very effective. Perhaps add a tassel on one of the ends? Nice...

I've made this before and love it. I also added a bead to the bottom and it really looked nice.

perfect! Thanks for the link! I'm making a bunch of bookmarks this year too! A rose I downloaded years ago...who knows wherefrom, I lost the url. and Safiya's Butterfly bookmark. . .
http://www.geocities.com/safiya_ali/patterns/Butterflybkmk.html
there's two separate pages...one for the butterfly, one for the bookmark...I adapted the bookmarker part somewhat...but it's just the best butterfly I've seen in a while. I've done it in purple with purple varigated edging...adorable, I even made one without the bookmarker part and put it on a lanyard hook thingy to hang on my purse!

Thanks for the butterfly bookmark pattern - I've bookmarked it for after Christmas (I've already got too much to do to add another project!)
