View Full Version : Stitch Markers

SO after reading several threads on stitch markers, I was inspired. I made regular stitch markers, then ones to mark rows, and also ones to mark what hook you were using on the project. They all look much better in person. Well, all together it was a ton. I don't know that I would ever use this many, but once I got going, there was no stopping me. Sorry about all the pick, but click to make them larger.

Not my idea, it was someone else one Crochetville, but I can't remember who. But I loved it, esp. for WIP that are put away for awhile. I always forget what I was using.

Wow! Awesome! May I ask where you get the little metal circles to put the beads and things on, and the clasp-type ones?

I got my supplies at Michaels Craft store in the beading section.

Very nice! I have never tried making stitch markers. I just started crocheting with beads, though, so maybe it's a start... :P

You've been busy! All of them are really great work. These are a good sampling of various ways to make markers. Very creative!

Okay, so I got the idea from This Thread (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28289&highlight=stitch+marker). It was several people that were talking about the numbers for counting and the letters to remember what hook you were using.

Thanks for sharing this FABULOUS idea!!! I need to make some with letters for my UFO's . I've been known just to leave the hook in the project but sometimes it falls out , or it's the only one I can find in that size. Then I forget what I was using ... I'm sure we've all done it al least once. The stitch markers are great thanks for making life easier. I bet this starts a new trend!!!

They're all so pretty. I love the ones that show hook size. What kind of jewelry finding did you use to put the alphabet beads on? My jewelry-making experience is very limited.

These are great! You did a fabulous job with them.....I bet you could sell them on E-Bay or in an Etsy shop......Especially the ones that remind you of the hook size that was used in the project......SHEER GENIUS!

My pictures are in my blog, I hope you can get to them ok, seems I have used all my space up as far as my pictures on that site:( . Anyway have a look.

what about marking your crochet hook like the ones i found on ebay here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Bejeweled-Hooks-Susan-Bates-Crochet-Hook-Size-G_W0QQitemZ280030580931QQihZ018QQcategoryZ41234QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting)? and for when the auction ends, here's a pic:

i think it's a pretty neat idea and the fact that there is a clasp on either end makes it nice for crafters on the go to be able to just hook them onto a keyring or something. i'm curious as to how the beads stay stuck to the top of the needle. gorilla glue, sculpy clay, or something of the sort? the only thing i'm not overly keen on is the sheeth over the hook. i think i'd find that a bit uncomfortable to work with and think that the yarn may get hung up or caught on it? :think otherwise, i think the overall idea is pretty neat! Congrats to Miss Bejeweledhooks on her creative insight!
