View Full Version : Problems Resetting Password?

Some people are getting an error message when they attempt to reset their password. Hopefully, this information will help prevent some of the problems people are experiencing.

To Request a New Password:

Click on the Login button without entering any information.
Click on the link given.
Enter your email address associated with your forum account and click the request password button.To Activate Your Password:

Close all Crochetville windows in your browser.
Check your email for the password reactivation email.
Click on the link in the email.
You'll get a browser window telling you your password has been sent to you. Do not click on the link on this page. Just close all Crochetville windows again.
Check your email for your new password.
Open a new Crochetville window and login with your username and new password (which will be a string of numbers).
You can copy/paste the number string from the email into the password field.
Once you are logged in, go to your User CP, click the link to Edit Password, and you can change your password to something you can easily remember.If You Forget to Close Windows and Get an Error Message:

If you forget to close all Crochetville windows and open a brand-new one before entering your username and password, you will get the following error message:



vBulletin Message The request to reset your password was made more than 24 hours ago, so it has expired. To resubmit the request, please use this form (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/login.php?do=lostpw).


If you see this, you will think you are not logged in. Don't worry, though. Because you really are logged in to the forum. On the top left of this page you'll see a link: "Crochetville--A Crochet Forum and Message Board." Just click on this link and you'll be taken to the main index page of our forum, where you will be logged in as usual. From here, go to your User CP and change your password as outlined above.
