I want to make a long sweater/jacket for my sister. It needs to be a size 22-24 or 26-28. She is small through the shoulders and has small arms and legs. She is very volutous through the bust and waist, so I want it to be comfortable, not too hot and flattering to her figure. Do any of you have such a pattern or know where I can find one?:think Thanks!!
P.S. I want to make it for her for Christmas, so I need a pattern that will work up quickly too. Not asking for much ha? Ha Ha :lol. Also, any yarn suggestions would be more than appreciated!!

I have looked for these patterns everywhere, the internet, Michaels, Barns and Noble, Borders, etc. and I can't find anything. Can anyone help me?

hey girls.. I just found something.
OK. I know it's a knitting book, but if you can get some help from someone to transfer the patterns to crochet, I bet this would work!

Being a big girl myself... I'm definitely ordering this book!
I also have these links:

http://www.dianelangan.com/psize.html
I have not yet purchased or made any of these because I haven't had time yet, but they are on my list of "to do's" - esp the long jacket on the dianelangan site.
Good luck!

Go to the LionBrand site. Some of the patterns go up to 1X. If you find something you think will work, but it only goes up to size large, here's what you do.
Figure out the difference of stitches to begin with between the sizes. Using simple numbers: size small chain 10; size medium chain 14; size large chain 18
It becomes obvious that the difference in size is 4 stitches. So - to make it a 1X chain 22; to make a 2X chain 26; etc.
That's all that's required to enlarge a pattern. Then just follow the instructions as written for the largest size to get decreases. Nothing changes. Just the amount of your beginning chain.

I've got that Big Girl Knits book and it's fantastic!! Unfortunately, you're much more likely to find something in a plus sized pattern for knitting than crochet....

Bamabell: Thank you so much. I didn't think I was going to get any assistance with this. I do love the Big Girl Knits book there are some great things in there and I guess I am going to have to break down and actually knit her something. Yes, I can knit and pretty well to, I just prefer to Crochet. I get bored easy when knitting and tend to fall asleep, LOL:lol .
Clearwaters: Thanks for the tip on how to increase the pattern. I may have to give it a whirl, but I think I will try it out on a non-gift, before I settle in to make it.
jessc031778: It is sad that you are more likely to find plus sizes in Knit and we should do something about that! If I knew what I was doing, I would! LOL:D !
