I'm wanting to make my youngest niece a blanket for xmas as I've made one for both her sisters in the past. The babette from interweave is one I love but I wanted to do circles instead of squares. Something like this but I would join enough for a blanket as opposed to a scarf. Does someone know where I could find an pattern to work circles like this? I know it's probably easy but my being a novice, I don't know how to just "do" it. Thanks!

I think all you have to do is make a whole bunch of scarves and then sew them togather into an afghan.....there will be a sort of diamond shape in the middle of four circles, and perhaps smaller circles can be made to fill that in! Hope this helps!

Sorry, I might should've been more clear. I know HOW to get the circles joined to the size I'd like it to be. What I DON'T know is how to crochet in the round like that. That link isn't a pattern, and I don't have a pattern for that scarf. I was just looking for an easy for a novice to understand pattern for crocheting in the round as that scarf is done.

This belt pattern might work for you:

This one is circles in the square. You can leave off the square and just keep making the circles to the size you want:

Same thing with this one:

A coaster pattern would work:

This is a very helpful tutorial for making circles.

These joining methods are very practical when making a blanket. You really want the joins to hold up and these will.
