This is my first time to post. My daughter's soccer team is the lightening bugs. I think the name came since their shirts are lime green and seem to glow. Does anyone know where I can find a lightening bug pattern??
Thank you

Maybe you can adapt a pattern from this site: http://***************************/cr/cr/bugs.html

Rachael,

What are you making? I did a soccer hat for my nephew and one of his teammates! Here it is, you can change the colors to match the team! This is such a cute soccer hat...(sorry it doesnt have to do with lightning bugs but I wasn't sure what you were making :-)

I'm with birdlady1. If you could adapt one of the existing patterns somewhat, here are pictures of what the real thing looks like. I was surprised the first time I saw one in the light, just an ordinary looking beetle!

For a more cartoon-y/cute bug, I think Roxycrafts flying one from the Love Bug set would be great!

Wow, I had no idea they were such colorful bugs! I used to catch them in a jar when I was a kid every summer in the Catskill Mountains of New York.

My memory is not very good, but the cutest halloween costume I ever saw was of a little girl as a lightening bug. I think she had antenna and wings. Then a 2-Litter soda bottle was somehow hung on her behind with one or two green glow sticks in it. Soooo cute.

Here's a Ty Beanie Baby called Glow. Maybe it'll help you figure one out:
