Hi everyone - I can't tell you all how much I have enjoyed Crochetville:yay It really brightens my day to sign in and see what's going on. I just wish I had more time to join all the fun :hook . I am making a simple hat and scarf set for my daughter for Christmas and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a simple pattern for fingerless gloves/mittens. She showed me some yarn that she really liked and asked if I could make her something with it :think . I told her I wasn't sure since I'm kind of new to making anything other than afghans. I searched and searched and found a simple hat and scarf pattern. I went and bought a whole bunch of the yarn she liked and got to work. This will be such a surprise to her and I would love to be able to make the fingerless mittens to match. She would be so surprised :lol that mom made the set for her. :woo

You'll find lots here. Search for wrist warmers, fingerless gloves, and gauntlets.

Thanks for the quick reply ladies :ty - I have found several that I would like to try. I have never been trendy myself and didn't even realize that they were coming back into fashion. I do not like gloves, neither does my daughter, so I think these would be the perfect solution to keep hands warm. AND the added bonus of being in fashion! :dance They also look like they would work up quickly so I may make several pairs to give to some of my Line Dancing friends for Christmas :gift Does anyone out there Line Dance?? :D

http://melaniebug.tripod.com/suzetta's_fingerless_mittens.htm The fingerless mittens on this site are so simple to make. I made 4 pair just yesterday and that was in-between a million other things. Each pair can be made in an hour with tons of interruptions. The pattern is for adults but I 2 adult pairs and 3 child size with one of the girls being much smaller (4yo). Instead of starting with a ch32, I chained 25 for the 7 & 8 yos and ch20 for the smallest. Basically hdc back & forth until you make the thumb area, ch 5,4,3, skip 5,4,3, and continue with your rows. Whip stitch the sides together, weave in ends and you're done! This is not my pattern but one I find super easy & fast to do. I made them all with Bernat Soft Boucle and a G hook. Makes them soft, thick & cozy with no holes.

Thanks Diamond - these look great. I'm going to try making a pair tomorrow. I like the fact that they work up quickly. It was nice of you to include your directions for making them smaller.
