I've not made any clothing items yet and would like to make my son a pull-over type sweater. So I'm looking for an easy pattern he's about a size 6. Most of the sweater patterns I've found are for girls. Is there a difference in how you make boy vs girl sweaters or is it solely based on color?
Thanks!

I would think it's just color with a pullover. As long as it's a basic style with no ruffles, it will be okay to use for a boy.

I have a 4yo dd & 6yo ds- I've made them a few sweaters - it is all about color and dropping out any lacy stitches.
The easiest patterns were these
popcorn pullover (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/cjif-childsPullover.html) - leave off the popcorns and to straight dc for boys
and the red heart tear off sheet LW1280 Just right one (:no I can't find this on the web right now, weird:think ).
This year I'm making the one from FCEC cable sweater and this two-toned sweater (http://www.freepatterns.com/fp_pdfs/Other/Crochet/two_toned_pullover.pdf) for my ds.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! I had seen the ones you posted for me, flying hooks, but they weren't quite what I was looking for. I did find one that is a "flag sweater" but it looks very simple and I am just doing my own colors instead of the flag pattern. http://crochetcabin.bravehost.com/flagsweater.html
Thanks again for the help!!
