Hi everyone:hook . I need some help. My 9 year old just auditioned for a part in the Nutcracker Ballet with Central West Ballet and GOT A PART!! I am very proud!! Can you tell? Anyway, the dress code for rehearsals is very strict, black and pale pink and no bulky extras. When she starts rehearsing, she is wearing a long sleeve leotard to keep warm. They keep the studio cold because as the dancers are rehearsing they are exerting so much energy they get hot. What I would like to do is make my daughter a ballet shrug that just slips over her arms, so that she can wear it to start then take it off as she starts warming up. I have found a few patterns but they are all for adults and my daughter wears a girls size small. Does anyone know wear I can find a crochet pattern for a "girls" size small "ballet shrug". Thank you!!:)

You could try using the Shrug Schematics ....I used these and even made an infant sized shrug...very easy to follow. :D

As far as I know you're either going to have to modify up or down in size or use the Pink Shrug schematics (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6750).

This might be closest in size, so less adjusting:

More shrugs from her:

One of my favorites but it's an adult size. With some fiddling and smaller hook, you might get it to fit your daughter:

This one is for bulky thread but maybe you can modify it and also change the buttons for ties:

There's this green one, again needing sized down:

There's two here that are pretty close to perfect. Child Blue Slouchy Shrug and especially Girls Tie and Collar Shrug Pattern:

Thank you so much. "Megan's Shrug" is exactly what I am looking for. I need to use a smaller hook and yarn, and a different stitch to make it warmer, but the general idea is perfect. The thing is, is that it cannot be bulky or have any ties or frillies. Anyway, the pattern has given me a good place to start and some great ideas!!! Head is whirling and I can't wait to get started. Thank you all so much!!!
