For those of you, like Yarn Tomato and Hazel Nut Latte, who have their own domains, which registration service did y'all use? I'm thinking of buying a domain, but I want to shop around for the best service first.

And also, I don't want to pay for web hosting, since I have free space through my university, so I need to figure out how to get my own domain name, but have the material still hosted in my public_html space on the UNC servers... Are there any network wizards out there? :thinking1

www.godaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com) is a good domain registrar and pretty cheap too!

Hi, Katie! I use GoDaddy (http://godaddy.com/) and I love them!! Great service, inexpensive, reliable. I used them for another web site in the past as well. I shopped around a lot before I chose them. Also I like that you can get private registration services (if you pay a little bit more), so your full name and address are not out there for the whole world to see.

As far as hosting you web site on your uni's space, check out GoDaddy's domain forwarding and masking (comes free with domain name registration). Let me know if you have more questions on this; I'm happy to help.
