Any blogspot user(s) who make/modify templates out there? I redid mine but have one prob. It's too wide, on the preview it doesn't show up to wide but after I have republished it shows up to wide. Anyone have any suggestions? I've been checkin their help pages but haven't found the answer yet.

I don't use blogspot but I had a similar problem with my blog being too wide for the screen. I found that my pictures were too large and forcing the screen to widen up. It was fine as soon as I made the pictures smaller. You might want to check the size of the square you have your title in, it looks a little wide to me and then down further in your blog you have some pretty large pictures. Maybe if you reduce their size it might help. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" />

I really love the way your blog is looking, keep up the good work! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cheerleader.gif" />

I use Blogger, though I don't host on blogspot, but I don't use a stylesheet for layout, I use tables. :thinking2 Dot has some good ideas. I have seen those things cause problems before.

I Did, with your help lol
I think I have all the bugs worked out. Ya know, I started out with a template from someone else, that old addage(sp?) "If you want something done right; Do it yourself" sure came into play here. lol

I love your blog too! Is that a blogger template? Being new at this whole thing and not having enough time to spend on it, I am far from attaining "cuteness" for my blog.

Rebeccav: I sent you a message to your ex inbox re:work in progress percentage bars. If anyone can help me get one onto my blog, I'd be your bestest crochet buddy...:nana

Hey there Sutty! How did you get your button to be "clickable"? I've been trying to do that.

The template as it started out came from BlogSkins.com (http://www.blogskins.com/) You have to register but it's free and there are tons of templates! Had to modify the CSS quite a bit to get it the way I wanted it but most are pretty good. I'm afraid to go back there afraid I'll find one I like better and change again.

Added Edit: IF you pick a template that has graphics be sure to download the graphics and upload them to someplace like Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) that allows hotlinking (and is free) so you aren't stealing someone else's bandwidth.

I was folding clothes when I had a thought I had better mention that if you use a blog template from somewhere (or edit your exisiting one) you SHOULD ALWAYS make a back up of your old template. (Just open notepad and copy-n-paste, save as text .txt) That way if you mess up you can go back! (Oh how I wish life was like that!)
Also, if you use a template don't forget in most cases your personal aditions (like links etc.) will have to be redone (Thats another good use for your backup!)
To those who know this already maybe if I forgot something you can add it.

Now... back to those clothes

I've been trying to set my blog up to where no one has to scroll down to see the blog entries, if anyone still has to do that please tell me what browser you are using.

Hopefully I will get it figured out... :thinking2

Thanks Rachel, not familiar with that browser. I'll have to do some checking. lol Been pouring over all my CSS stuff to figure out what the problem is.

Mozilla is getting semi-popular since there were some major security issues with IE. From what I understand, the company is called Mozilla, and they have a browser called Mozilla, and then a newer version called Firefox, which is what I have. :blah

I downloaded Firefox just set it up to check it out (Ialways try to have all the current browsers it helps when doing webpages). Been using crazybrowser myself for about three years. Got used to the ease of use. crazybrowser.com (http://crazybrowser.com)
Anyway I went to my blog and it shows up but there is no space between the sidebar and the blog... odd.. I'm gonna do some reading to see if there is a CSS conflict between browsers.

Hi Kari! I'm using IE and I no longer have to scroll down to view it. Don't know what you did, but it's fixed for me. Thanks! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/hug.gif" />

RachelG

I no longer have to scroll down, but, like you (Kari) said, in Firefox, there's no space between the spot where your posts are and where all of the buttons are and it still looks like it could be fixed.

(I'm just letting you know. It's not really a problem for me.)
