Silkymist: Here's the Nintendo Hat pattern...It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would!! It works up in just a couple of hours...I also happened to have the colors you posted under "Designer Needed"! Have fun with it!!

Materials:
Size D crochet hook
Bernat supersaver in Winter White and Pale Antique Rose, 1 skein of each
Small amount of black ww yarn

Directions:

Circles:
Ch 4, join w/ sl st to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc 13 into ring. Ch 3, turn.

Rnd 2: Dc in same st as turning ch, 2dc in ea st around. Join w/ sl st, ch 3, turn.

Rnd 3: (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) around. Join w/ sl st, ch 3, turn.

Rnd 4: Dc in next dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/ sl st, ch 3, turn.

Continue increasing by one additional sc before 2 sc in ea repetition of the pattern.

Make 4 white circles up to Rnd 4. Make 1 white circle to Rnd 3, cut white, join pink. Continue w/ increases to Rnd. 9.

Hat and brim:

Rnds 10-12: Work even. Ch 3, turn.

Rnd 13: Dc in next 6 dc, dc2tog, (dc 7, dc2tog) around. Join, ch 3, turn.

Rnd 14: Dc in next 5 dc, dc2tog, (dc 6, dc2tog) around. Join, ch 3, turn.

Rnd 15: Dc in next 4 dc, dc2tog, (dc 5, dc2 tog)sc v5 around. Join, ch 3, turn.

Rnd 16: Dc in next 3 dc, dc2tog, (dc 4, dc2tog) around. Join, ch 3, turn.

Continue decreasing to size desired. Cut pink, weave in end. Join white, ch 3. Work even for 4 rounds. Join, finish off.

Eyes: (make 2)

W/ black, ch 7. 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook and in next dc. Dc across to last 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch, 3 dc in next ch, (working from the other side of ch) 2 dc in next ch, dc across to last ch, 2 dc in next ch, join w/ sl st. Finish off, weave in end.


Assembly:

Sew both eyes about 1" apart on one side of brim. Sew the 4 white circles onto sides of pink crown of hat. Weave in ends. Place on head to wear. Enjoy!!

COuld we see a pic of your finished product...sometimes it is easier for me to do the patterns with a picture....

also getting very bummed about the 07 calendar for crochet...I have tried 2 patterns and they are both so typoed that I have gave up for the time being on making anything from there...

from 5 thru 9 u just continue to increase evenly
and im guessing that you have to make the circles separately and then sew them on, making them as big as she suggests
the way i understand it is to make 4 circles that are 4 rounds each so they can be evenly spaced around the hat
and then make one circle that is slightly smaller, with 3 rounds, for the top
hope that helps
