Does anyone have a crocheted slipper pattern with a walkable sole? Most patterns only have the basic crochet sole. Any suggestions as to what/(how) material to use for the sole? Thanks!

Have you checked out <a href="http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/slippers_socks.php" target="_new">Crochet Pattern Central</a>?

These all have sturdier soles than normal slippers:
Men's Padded Sole Slippers
Women's Padded Sole Slippers
Crisscross Sandals for Women
Crocheted House Boots
Thong Sandals

Was searching for a pattern for this myself, or instructions on how to do it.
I think a long time ago, I had some such instructions but they most surely have been long lost in the shuffle.

However, I bought some vinyl today, and I think some soles can be cut to fit one's foot and the crocheted slipper can be crocheted to the vinyl sole. Does anyone have any idea or tips for doing this?
Holes would have to be punched around the sole, but as to what tool to do this with, I'm not sure.
Maybe some kind of hole punch that is used for punching holes in paper??

Anyone??

I started it asking about non-skid slippers. Very interesting ideas were posted.
