Beading and tapestry crochet were made for each other! The heavy patterned fabric perfectly supports the beads. My new "Bead & Felted Tapestry Crochet" book includes 10 beaded projects (some of which are also felted). You can see the projects at http://iweb.tntech.edu/cventura/BFTCprojects.htm
What is tapestry crochet? With tapestry crochet, one or more yarns are carried while another is single crocheted. Tapestry crochet does not look crocheted. In fact, the surface looks so much like woven fabric, that most people think that tapestry crocheted pieces are made on a loom! Please look at my web page at http://iweb.tntech.edu/cventura/rightstitches.html (http://iweb.tntech.edu/cventura/rightstitches.html) to see the stitch. For more information and links to free projects with tutorials, please look at http://www.tapestrycrochet.com/
I hope you will give it a try!
