Little girl's stocking cap?

I am new here so forgive me if this has been posted before. I had a knit hat as a child which was an old fashioned stocking cap, striped and very long in the back with a tassel on the end (it got narrower as it came to that point). I want to make one for my niece and I could just decrease, but perhaps someone already has a pattern? Thanks!
