We are each going to make whatever kind of purse we want to make.:) The point is to see our individuality and be creative. As this is my first ever project, I'll be making a simple envelope style purse.

The CALs are going to get me in trouble. However I think I have the perfect stuff sitting at home for this one.
I think I will try making a small bag of some kind out of some Black Aunt Lydias Cotton of some kind. I made DH a hat and made myself waht was supposed to be a shopping bag, but it steched too much when used and is usesless as such. I guess I could frog it, but I use it to keep active projects in so it is kept to good use anyway.

Andrea,
You did a great job. I'm working on a purse now, but have a question on the lining (if you don't mind helping a "purse newbie"). How did you attach the lining? Is it with thread or yarn? And just how hard was it to do?
Thanks, in advance, for your help.

I do the same thing. I either free hand it, or get inspired and change it to suit me. I have been working on a thread medallion purse for the last year :blush and am almost there. I think I just need 10 more squares. I also had just bought some wool to make a purse to felt. So maybe I can kill 2 WIP's with one along :lol

Yep, I line them. Although I love felted things, I don't necessarily like the feel of felted wool. So when I reach into a bag, I'd rather feel something smooth. That's just me :P

I just started my Fat Bottom Bag today. I'm halfway done with the body of it. I picked a hand-dyed cord I bought a few weeks ago and I'm real happy with how it's working up!

ooo! is it too late to join? i JUST started doing the sanibel bag from berroco.com - simple single crochet in the round bag but isn't it cute??? i'm doing it with a strand of sugar n cream and a strand of bernat cool crochet held together and an F hook - yeah, really really tight but SUPER sturdy! and both yarns are a neapolitan variegated (the sugar n cream is actually called rosewood but it looks the same). it looks so pretty so far.

I bought yarn to try and do a graph-ghan. After many attempts i have failed miserably. I decided to make granny squares with it cause i seem to be abit challenged makeing those and need the practice. I was originally thinking that I would put them together into a blanket, but I am thinking that a purse with the blue grannies might be fun too. I'm in, but it will be a long while beforethis is done as i only do a granny if I need a break from aonther project and I only have a few hours a week to crochet anyway.

Hi! I just saw this CAL, and it's something, because I've decided to make purses for everyone in my family (the women obviously) for Christmas! :) I'm almost done crochetting them all, but have the linings to do... I haven't read all the posts here, but maybe someone has some advice for the lining? I have a problem with material fraying... My sewing machine doesn't do zig zag, but I thought about cutting the edge with those ^^^^ scisors, you know? I can't think of what they're called. Anyone have any advice?
Oh! I bet someone has already said this, but I've discovered granny square purses! I have that book 99 Granny Squares to Crochet (http://www.amazon.com/Granny-Squares-Crochet-Leisure-Arts/dp/1574866532/sr=1-9/qid=1162416473/ref=sr_1_9/102-0575145-7292112?ie=UTF8&s=books), and I've picked out a pattern, made 10 of them, 8 for the purse, and 2 for the flap, and just whipstiched them together, and came up with a purse! I haven't made the lining yet for it, but when I do, I'll post a picture. I'm really excited, because I'm almost done with the 9 purses for presents! :)

hi Vickie I just folded the lining over about 1/4" and then whipped stitched it or you can whipstitch the edges to keep it from fraying before you actually sew it to the purse. here is the site that I learned from.

This Drops pattern (http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=98&d_id=48&lang=en) is my inspiration. The original has only the flap in crochet but I will be crocheting the body and strap as well. This will be my first felted item! My yarn is a kind of natural brown colour alpaca. Tomorrow I'll be felting my swatch, then I can really start!

I felted one of my purses last night and I really screwed up. It was taking a while to start felting and I was watching it and checking it and it was taking a long time. I walked away and got a phone call and was on the phone for 10 min. When I got off the phone I went to check on it and IT had felted alright! I had gone so far that it had shrunk over 50%:eek .
I pulled and streatched and pulled and streatched and now it is drying. It is much smaller that I had planned!
Moral of the story......DON"T WALK AWAY WHILE FELTING! KEEP CHECKING! ONCE IT STARTS, IT GOES VERY FAST AND WILL SHRINK WAY TOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

neicy crochets: Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I am planning on lining the purses I make out of the 99 Granny squares pattern that I found, because I deliberately picked a very airy square pattern. I only have to actually make the lining now, but I'm really excited about it. I did the basic chain 100ish (depending on how long you want the strap) and do 5 ish (again, however wide you want it) rows of sc. I then whipstiched the strap to the purse. I think it turned out pretty good, and I will post a picture when I finish the lining. I might work on it tonight. :)

Right now i am getting burned out on crocheting with plastic after makeing nearly 30 purses and bags for a craft show and not even selling one. It's a disapointment that i didn't want. Now i have the internet (only one week now) and i have been looking up new patterns and how i may go about tring to sell them.

Hi! I just wanted to post pictures of bags I just finished. They're both drawstring type purses. The pink one is for my niece, and the ecru colored one is for my sister. It has a sage green lining inside, that I'm proud to say, I sewed! I don't sew, but I tried it anyway. :) I think they came out pretty well. The pink one has a pocket inside too, which was very easy.

Neicy and Danijoy - great purses!
JesseCat - that'd be great if you're doing the Drops purse too! I'm working on my felted swatch now - having a few problems to get it felted evenly - then I'll figure out the measurements and hopefully at the beginning of next week I'll be starting. I think the bottom of the purse is slightly wider than the top and I want to try to make mine that way. You're right, crocheting it should be easy and fast. I'm also planning on putting a zipper at the top (under the flap), for safety's sake

Here is a pic of my Christmas bag/tote for this purse CAL. Made this for a charity auction out of dark green homespun with cream mittens. Other mitten is on the other side of the tote with the chain connecting the two mittens.
If I hadn't ran out of time (imagine that!!), I would have taken a pic of both sides, but I was lucky to get this one pic done before the auction. :lol Just realized I can change my sig line now also :D

I couldn't figure out what to work on next then decided I would start my daughter's Fish Purse. I'm on the 20th round right now.
http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32095
I started with a vairiegated blue and green, a round of white and now I'm adding 4 rounds of green. She is going to be so surprised by the unusual purse. She's a scuba diver in Florida so I want to make her all kinds of things that have to do with ocean creatures. If anyone knows of patterns on the net or in books, please let me know.

I have started the body of the Drops pattern purse. This will be my first felted project. I am trusting that it will felt and shrink (as my swatch did), because now it's *huge*!

I've almost finished the body of the purse for my granddaughter. I finally decided which one and I like the way it's looking. I guess tomorrow I'll have to figure out how to line it. It's got shells and posts in a light blue yarn. I'm not sure if I'm going to line it in white or a darker blue.
Is that one of Drew's purses, Adri? Do you line felted purses?

Hi Sue,
here is a link (http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=98&d_id=48&lang=en) to the pattern i'm making (it's a Garnstudio purse). It's the first felted purse i've made (am making), so I'm not sure if i'll line it or not. I'd like to, to not have the wool rubbing on the back of my hands every time I delve in, but it will depend on how much I can still stand it when i've finished crocheting it!
your purse with the shells sounds great! can't wait to see pictures!

No my hands are still on. But i do say i am taking a break from crocheted till maybe after christmas. My hands hurt i made four snowman out of plastic in one week for a show and sold one :( that was worthless. i will crochet again if someone on the web wants one. And i wear fingerles gloves it helps alot.
I have made about 30 bags now all in storage till summer and i will sell at craft shows.
And the green is a secret i will tell, plastic tablecovers from Card factory store. That is where i go to get the colors i need if i don't have plastic bags the color i need.
Thanks for the comments, if you are intrested in buying one PM me.

I started a Cupcake purse for my granddaughter and one for a friend of hers. It's coming right along.
Cupcake Purse v5
- Designed by Cynthia Gurisko 12/2006
Yarn: Two colors of any worsted weight yarn
Hook: H/5.00 MM
Skill level: Beginner/Advance Beginner
For bottom and sides (cupcake part), it’s worked as one piece.
Round 1: Ch 4, join to fourth ch from hook with a sl st to form a ring, Ch 3 (mark this as 1st dc, this will always be the 1st dc in a round), 12 dc into ring, join with a sl st into the first dc.
Round 2: ch 2 (move stitch marker up with each row), 1dc in same st, 2 dc in st around, join with sl st to first dc
Round 3: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st*, repeat from * around, join with sl st in 1st dc
Round 4: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, *1 dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st*, repeat from around,
join with sl st in 1st dc
Round 5: Repeat round 4
Round 6: Ch 2, *1 fpdc in next 2 st, 1 bpdc in next 2 st*, repeat from * around, join with sl to 1st dc.
Round 7 - 15: Repeat round 6. Note: May be continued to any desired height.
Fasten off, flip inside out and weave ends in.
Flip right side out.
Top (frosting) Note: There will a 1 stitch increase per row, it creates the puffy look when the purse is cinched.
With second color
Round 1: Join with a slip stitch to any stitch in top of cake, ch1 (mark this as the 1st stitch in the round), *1 sc in next st* repeat around. Join with sl st to 1st sc.
Round 2: ch 2, (move stitch marker up with each row) 1dc in same st , *1 dc in back loops only of next stitch*, repeat * around, Join with sl st to 1st st.
Round 3: ch 2, (in both loops) 1 dc in same st, *1 dc in next st repeat around*, Join with sl st to 1st st.
Round 4 – 7: Repeat Round 3
Round 8: ch 2, 1 dc in next 2 st, ch 1, skip next stitch, *1dc in next 4 st, ch 1, skip next stitch*, repeat around to last 4 st, 1 dc in next 3, ch 1, skip next stitch, join with sl st to 1st dc. Note: This will create a space for the straps.
Round 9: ch 2, 1 dc in next two st, *1 dc in previous row ch 1 sp, 1 dc in next 4 st*, repeat around, join with sl st to 1st dc. Fasten off.
Ruffled edge (of frosting, where the two colors meet)
NOTE: You will be working into the first row of single chains made when you changed color. You will crochet into the front loop left free when you worked in the back loop for round 2 of the TOP.
Round 1: Join with a slip st to any of the free front loops, ch 1, *5 dc in next st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat around. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
Straps (make 2)
Make a simple chain, however long you like. Make 2. You will weave these through the spaces left from round 8. Weave one strap in from left side, knot together. Weave in second strap from right side, knot together. So when both are pulled they cinch the top of the purse closed.
Stitches Used:
Sl st = Slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Fpdc = Front Post Double Crochet
BPDC = Back Post Double Crochet

I finally finished my purse and the pieces that matched. My DH picked out the pattern and the yarn. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I did line the purse, which the pattern didn't call for. Sorry the pic of the lining isn't the best, but it is a large purse, and I split the lining so there are two sections to the purse.

Thankyou, Darski. I'm coming right along on it. I decided on a pattern for the front and back. I'm decreasing stitches at the side and I'll put some kind of handles at the top. I'm thinking I want straight rods for the handles.
I started one of these and love the pattern. Maybe this would be an idea of how you could do the hook holders on the outside of your bag. See what you think.

I was thinking that you could work flaps on either side of that long centre divider to make your top. if you did FLO and BLO towards either side it could work with some bits hanging over the sides.
What were you thinking for the strap?
I really like where this is going so far.

I've had to set aside the yarn bag for now so I can get Christmas gifts completed. My dh needed some black felt for something yesterday. While I was getting that for him it hit me that felt might be good for lining purses and easier to work with. Has anyone else used it for that? Any advice about lining with it?

Can I bring up this CAL? I started doing purses and I am enjoying them a lot! They are quick to do and will look so nice. My white Nordstrom Hobo Bag (picture on the CAL) turned out okay. But I wanted a bigger one, so I started the Drop Purse (http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=99&d_id=24&lang=en) (link) which is more of a tote bag. I haven't lined it yet, need to get some fabric for it. And I need to do the strap, I'm thinking sc with a ribbon lining (read that somewhere on here).
I was making the Pretty Purse (http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Knitting/Projects/Accessories/LW1369+Pretty+Purses.htm) from Coats & Clark, but it is going to be hudge and I don't have enough yarn to finish it:no , so I may frog it and try again smaller as it's an easy pattern to adjust (I think)., but I just put it for now because I started another purse because I didn't want to frog yet (I hate frogging):blush . This one is going to be squares done in sc. At first I thought all blue. But I don't have enough yarn (trying to use up my stash), so I was looking through a magazine and found one in a granny square magazine for scrap yarn and used different shades of blue and green. I am going to like this. I have more blue (of coruse) and so it will be mostly a blue purse. Not sure on the lining as it's all sc and any would work.
I think that's it for now.:lol

Very cute bags!:clap
I am still working on the drop purse. I am sewing the lining (hate doing it, so I stopped). As soon as I get that in and the handle crocheted, I will post a pic.
I got distracted from that by my ball of magic yarn and the wonderfuf purses made it with. I made a tote bag and now wondering what to do with all the ends:think I need to post that in another discussion. But I'm thinking of just leaving them. WAshing the bag first to see, and then add a lining. I can just fix it as needed, since it's so many colors, no biggy.

I've almost finished my library book bag so I'll have my dh take a pic of it tomorrow. I'm working on the strap now and it isn't going to be lined so I'll finish it tonight. Right after I finish that I'm starting another one like it but bigger so a 2 1/2 gallon Ziploc bag will fit into it. I put my crochet projects into them with the directions so everything stays together. I'll be able to slip the Ziploc bag into the project bag to take with me and I want to put some extra straps on it with velcro on them so I can hook it on a lawn chair or whatever I'm sitting in. I'm also going to put a long handle on it so I can carry it over my shoulder.

I *was* making a felted Drops bag, but I ran out of wool and the people at the market couldn't get any more :( so I "dropped" that project...
now I'd like to make a small beaded purse with a long handle to wear across my body... one of those ones you can just pop your wallet and keys in and go... (my summer purse is a BIG, kinda heavy affair... sometimes a girl needs an alternative!). I saw a pattern on crochetme.com and I think I'll use that one... I'll post the link when I find it again...

Burgendy & Gold Purse (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55704) - link to one I finished Monday night, in case anyone here missed it and wants to see an easy to crochet purse. All done in half double crochet, so worked up quickly. I was thinking it would be easy to make several of these purses in different colors. Or even solid colors. I would make it bigger though, as I only did it 10x10" because I was just making it up and thought it would be big enough. But it is big enough for this occassion (Harry Potter movie). I like bigger purses then this.
My other purses are wips:blush like so many other crochet projects :blush :hook

I am thinking of another purse to do and to finish my other ones. They do make great Christmas presents. I was at my friends house on Saturday (she took me to the movie) and her 7 year old daughter had this pink purse. So that may be on my Christmas list this year... I did one for her sister a year ago in purple with purple fun fur around it, was super cute I thought.

Quite a few years ago, I cut out some bag patterns from a magazine (I think it may have been an old Mccalls Needlework or something like that,) that are made of Aunt Lydia's rug yarn. Being that I had some I thought I'd give it a go. The one I started is a tote bag. It uses a solid motif and a striped one, arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The solid square is gold, the striped one is gold, peacock and brick. I'm not sure if I have enough gold for the striped one. If I don't, I may use orange. I think it will still look good. It may take me a while as I have some other WIPS to finish off.

Ripple Bag CAL (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57561) is another great purse.
I saw a lady carrying a bag and thought that would be so cute to crochet! It was a striped bag, on the diagonal. It wasn't crocheted, but I thought it would be cute to be crocheted. That may be my next project after the Ripple Bag, I think it would be cute. I need to find a pattern for a diagonal, I know they are out there for afghans and I could just adjust it, just not do it as big and then decrease. It might be one of the Corner to Corner afghans or a Diagonal one. I'll just have to search and try it out later...

Knitting to Crochet Bag CAL (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61648)is another great bag to do. I finished mine (posted here: Puff Stitch Purse (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62684) ).
Working on a Cable Purse (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17182) from a pattern posted here on Crochetville. I'm doing mine with one strand, size H hook. I changed it slightly in that in Row 5 I didn't do the Ch 1, I did a hdc in a stitch to avoid the great big hole. I will need to line it, the pattern uses 2 strands and so it's doesn't have to be lined, I guess. I'm not going to do the handles like they have them, I like my purses to be carried on my shoulders and usually those hoops aren't big enough. So I'll make my own handles. Not sure how yet...
Anyone else working on purses? I am having fun with these.

I Used Aunt Lydia's craft yarn that was given to me for this project. It's gold and shades of orange to rust. I have more yarn in different colors and may make more of these when I have time.

mamarose........ i love those colors!
I have been wanting to do FBB for ages. The handles are staring at me daily. My new years resolution is to not start any new projects until I finish my 63 square afghan that I have been working on for YEARS, and finish the Aztec Sun Afghan that I started right before Christmas.
But it wouldn't be starting it if I just went and got the yarn would it? ;-)

The most recent purse I did was a Blue Beaded Bag & Cell Phone Holder (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68758).
I have about 3 purses that are wips:blush. Since I like this purse I haven't done the others but I really need to finish the WAves of Color Tote.
Here are my 3 wip purses. Maybe a little motivation from this CAL could help me go on it. It's been pretty quiet in this CAL.
Waves of Color Tote Bag (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62995&highlight=color+waves) . I just need to add the plastic canvas inside (I like to do that, I did on my last one and love it) and the lining. Oh and an edging around the inside of the handles. I'm not doing a rsc or other, just a basic sc. Worked on my last one.
Pattern for Cable purse w/ bangle handles (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17182&highlight=purse) is another one. I didn't do the bangle handles and was sick when I sewed on my crochet one, so it's a bit wonky:P, but may work out as the front opening is wider then the back and I can get bigger stuff inside:lol. Just need to finish weaving in the strap end (didn't after I realized I made that mistake) and sew a lining and I have a lining.
And another purse from Jan/Feb issue of Crochet Today, BoHo Bag from the Crochet Dude. I changed it, but it still worked out fine. Just need to line that.
As you can tell I don't like sewing:no, so the lining is hard for me to do, but I have to do it.

Debbi-a1, thanks for letting us know of the Annie's Attic purse. Usually by the time I see mention of one of these patterns, it's a day late and I can't get it. This time I grabbed it on time. The purse looks like it would be easier to adjust to a larger size.
Also, on the color waves tote. You say you used PC inside the lining. Did you do a bottom and the front/back? I assume you used 7 ct. PC. Can you give a ball park figure of how many holes across and down for the 2 big pieces and for the bottom? Do you find that the PC seems to protrude at the corners? I tried it on my color waves, and bottom piece looked like it was protruding so I made a sleeve for it out of the lining material. I guess I made it too wide and it didn't quite fit. I scrapped the idea and just lined it with a pale orange. I frogged the lining several times and then I said this is the last time, if it won't work I will forget about it. But it worked. I am waiting for my daughter to come ov er one day with her camera to take pictures and then will post it. (I don't have a camera.)

Annies Attic free pattern today (2-18) has a Rugged tote.
Mamma rose, I'm sorry I didn't reply. I used PC on one wide side, bottom and other wide side. I like that because then when I hold it by the handles, the side kind of come together. I would suggest stitching the top a little, at least, to the fabric or yarn. Twice mine has come down and ended up somewhere in the purse where I have to play with it to get it back in place:blush
Mine doesn seem to come out a bit, but I whipped stitch the pieces together with the same color as the bottom of the bag. And I think mine is smaller then what the bottom calls for... So I think those two things help.
the Granny Square Pucker Purse (http://www.thepurseworkshop.com/Granny-Square-Pucker-Purse.html) (link) has info and help on doing that.

I think I will give this one a try; I just started a cute little girls purse on the LionBrand site that looks like a tulip. I have been procrastinating since I find the instructions a little confusing and will probably just finish it my own way so committing to this may be just the kick I need to get it done.:hook
Is there a date by which you would like to see these finished?

No particular day. You can choose your own "photo" day.
I have 2 other purses that I should finish...
One is the Pattern for Cable purse w/ bangle handles (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17182&highlight=cable+purse) (I didn't do those handles). And another one is one I have the lining for (from my Blue bag).

I know how that is. Maybe you will later so it's probably a good booklet to have. Purses can make nice gifts. The one from Annies (http://www.anniesattic.com/free_pattern_day/printer.html)probably could be done in a different color the green, but I think that goes with the "spring" look of it.

I have some green, that's why I was really excited to see this. And thought of a green purse. Not sure if I have enough. I have 2 shades left over from my afghan. Maybe I could do the gusset in the lighter shade, which I have less of. That might work and still look good.
Although I'll probably redo the handle. I like purses that go over my shoulder.

I was thinking the same thing about the handles...I like a shoulder bag with straps. I just love the flowers on the front of the bag and think it would be really cute as a shoulder bag. I know I don't have any green yarn right now but I'm going to Michaels this weekend so hopefully I can find some there that would work!

I went to Michaels yesterday and got green Cotton Ease for the purse and different colors of SugarnCream cotton for the flowers. They haven't restocked in a while and the selection was pretty limited. They had a green in the Sugar n Cream but it was a bright lime...not what I was looking for!

Kim, did you notice if the colors weren't the same in the pattern for the Spring Green Purse? I was looking at what the colors were, for example, Persimmon is a red or whatever color you want for the rose. Peacock isn't mentioned again the pattern but is in the materials... or at least I couldn't find it.. What about the grape? Maybe I copied it over wrong:thinkAnd then the Bluebells are blue, but that's not mentioned in the materials listing... is that the peacock? or is the small flower center peacock? It says yellow.
I think somewhere I messed up in copying?
Help.
I'm asking because I'm going to do a quick & easy vest and then this is my next project.
Thanks

I'm looking at the pattern and it looks like the Apple Green is for the body of the purse, the Persimmon is for the Rose, the Verde Green is for the leaves, Peacock is for the Bluebells, and the Daisy Ombre & Grape are for the small flowers. Does that help? They didn't give much info in the pattern, I think you just have to assume what they want you to use!
There's also little pearl beads for the center of the flowers that I don't have yet....didn't see those before!
Mine will be a little different because I got Sugar n Cream instead so my colors are similar but definitely not the same....
Hope that helps!

I've been working on this. I changed the front & back (I sometimes change it). Since I wasn't doing the bamboo handles, I decided I didn't need the way it was in the pattern. Then I didn't do the decrease for the bottom. Yes the curved bottom is nice, but I think having it square will make it easier to attach the gusset. Mine measures 13" long and 10" high. I used most of the darker color for it.
I'm working on the gusset and strap in one. At first I thought, this will be boring, but it's not bad. Very relaxing.
What I"m going to do to prevent Stretchy Straps (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75545) is to take some ribbon, attach it to one side of the strap, way to the edge, fold the strap over it, and sew it shut. So basically a tube with a ribbon in it. I won't mind if the strap is like a "tube". I see several purses like that and had one like that. I'm going to sew the ribbon to the strap before I fold it over, so I can get it attached throughout the strap. I think that will work. The ribbon matches the yarn almost perfectly.
I also found some fabric. I choose gingham. I figure that was good color and pattern and matched. And it was only $1 a yard:clap
Then I decided I'm going to do the rose a pink. I have a pretty baby pink left over and think that will look good.

Hi Debbi, The changes you made sound really nice! And thanks so much for the info on stretchy straps. I made a purse a month ago but haven't used it because I know the straps will stretch...now I know how to fix that!

:yayI made an adorable version of the Tulip Purse out of the free collection on Lion Brand's website. Any little girl who's into purses and dressing up would love it!
I used some sport weight lavender yarn I inherited from my mother (it was probably left-over from some baby gift she made) for the flower part and the handle and stem from a skein of Berrocco silky something or other in a wonderful celery-type green. Other than the colors, it turned out nearly identical to the pattern pic. I also added a little piece of velro in the tip of the middle petal for a fastener.
Apparently I am not allowed to post pics here yet so here is a link to the pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60065.html?noImages=0 (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60065.html?noImages=0)

That tulip purse is so cute!
Purse Organizer Pattern (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79428) - link to an idea you may want to use if you're making a lot of purses for yourself. And if you don't do pockets (like me) or just want something to transfer from one purse to another.
I've started one, although using similar colors to my current purse, but thought it would be fine in just black and white. Mine wont' be felted, but just crocheted using my own measurements. I'm using RH SS and a G hook and HDC. I did mine the height that I wanted it and then 25" long. Now I'm on the front part which is a little shorter.
Just thought I'd share this idea to purse lovers who may have missed the post (and sometimes I can find it easier linked in a CAL:blush).

Or just finish it and put it away for next spring. Or maybe add Christmas poinsettas or maybe have whatever I have on it removable, then make it an All Season Purse. :yes. That could be cute.

I started an Ice Cream Cone purse yesterday. I couldn't find a pattern anywhere for one so I'm making my own. I'm writing down the pattern as I go since I want to make sereral in different colors to put projects in.

I've seen a few ice cream cone purses and can't wait to see yours. I think a pattern may be bought, but not sure. Of course sometimes what people can make up is better or at least different.
I've been carrying mesh shopping bags to carry my projects in... yes I did make them for shopping, but they work great as WIP bags LOL. Ice cream cones purses would be cute for WIPs! And probably easier to find which one you're working on, a white top one for say another purse... a pink top for the ami... a napoleon color top for a scarf...
