My Mom's friend fell and had to go into a nursing home and won't be going home. Her daughter brought a few of her things to work on but she doesn't have the booklet for this pattern and since the fall can't remember how to finish it so I am trying to help. If anyone has a clue what pattern it is or a booklet it's in I would be so happy. Asking her daughter to bring the books to go through or going to her house to do it is not an option so thought I would try asking around and then just by the book for myself. Mary

It looks like a basic ripple with a shell between. I looked through my ripple books but could not find that specific one. Have you tried to copy it? I could give it a shot tomorrow if you'd like.

I was at Joanne's tonight for yarn club and the one lady that usually comes that knows a lot was not there for me to ask. Another young girl thought she recognized it from the Leisure arts book with the birthstone afghans I think it is. They have the book at Joanne's so we went and looked and it's close but it's just the shell with no ripple between.

I can only do simple beginner stuff so would never be able to copy it as I don't feel I am that good. I could pull out a few stitches and see if I can do it that way but I don't want to mess with it too much since it's not mine. Mary

I did like the leisure arts pattern for myself and I am thinking about it and if I decide to get it I just got a 50% coupon from Joannes and can get it pretty cheap that way. Thanks for the offer thoughl, such nice people on these boards. Mary

Found someone that recognized the pattern. She says it's in a book 20+ yrs. old called afghans are natural and she is sending it to me. I looked that book up and found out it's book no. 312 by Coats and Clark. Mary

i am always amazed at the people who use this sight. Anyone who needs something can get help her. this has been posted less than 24 hours and the pattern 20+years old has been located and help is on the way. I just love this group.

Actually I also posted on a cross stitch group I visit because there are also people there that crochet and someone there had the book but really any site you post to these days looking for old patterns you will get someone helpful that might know. Crochetville though has been very helpful to me with pattern help and I am grateful for that. The internet is truly a wonderful thing. Mary
