so a few days ago i tried to post a thread with 3 pics of paulina rubio wearing this hat and i wanted to make it and since i cant post the pics (w/e) i decided i could always just describe it.

basically its a chullo hat and in the middle going from back to front it has mohawk-style fringe. now im not interested in designs or color. im mostly interested in just being able to crochet the hat and adding the fringe myself... is it possible? i mean its obvious i cant work in a round. so maybe it will be easier to just think of the hat into two peices? like if i was to crochet one side and the other... crochet them together and add fringe down the middle?

would that work? would anyone be able to find me a chullo hat pattern? idk... im just wondering since its the MAIN reason why i decided to learn.

you can post a link to photos elsewhere (like on an official website etc). using someone elses images is a breach of copyright is all :) I did see your original pics but have never seen anything like it. good luck in your search

try looking for "ear flap hat" (or at least that's what came up when I googled 'chullo hat')
here's a link for the "jayne cobb cunning hat" that people here have been making:

oh id love to try that... that and this: http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/proj_helmet_1299.html

but i dont have hooks that are that big... i mean lets say that i wanted to do it with half the size hook and only one strand of yarn at a time, would i have to multiply the pattern by 2? or not do as many stitches since i'll be using a smaller hook and less yarn?
