I am looking for patterns for making shapes for my toddler. They had some cute ones in the latest Lion Brand catalog, but I'm not paying them $20 for it. LOL!
Anyone familiar with that pattern and/or know of a good substitute? TIA!

I dont know what Lion Brand has..... Maybe you could use coaster or fridgie patterns. Look here.......

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what you're wanting them for, if you're wanting to make them stuffed toys or what, but you might try granny squares. I have a good book, 99 Grannies to Crochet that has rectangle, hexagon, square, circle, and triangle grannies that you could crochet. They will be holey, but they're a shape. Does this help? I hope so. I don't know if there's a good website for grannies that are not square, but I am sure there is something somewhere for free. :)
Good luck!

:rant Duh!
I really didn't give enough info in my first post. Lion Brand has some shape characters that look a little like those popular japanese charaters. They have a circle, square, rectangle and triangle with arms, legs and faces. But they are charging $20 for the pattern/kit.
I would like to make some shape "toys" for my DS, but I really want to use my stash, and not have to buy the pattern. I could probably figure it out on my own, but it would be even better if I could find patterns.
Thanks!

I'm sure you could do these shapes without the kit. I looked at them and they seem to be all sc. You could make the shape and embrodier a face on them. The arms and legs could be made by chaining the length you want and doing 3 sc in each chain to make them curl. I hope this helps.

Do you mean Amigurumi patterns? If so there are some on this site

They are on the far right of the page.

I think this is an awesome baby toy pattern!

Or this one...it would be easy enough to add faces and arms and legs here!:lol

I know they are not EXACTLY what you wanted, but I thought maybe this might help with some of your shape issues!

here are some from Garnstudio, you just have to remember to convert them to US terminology :)

Thanks, but I think this will be one of those things I'll have to make up as I go along. I don't think I'll have time right now anyway. To many Christmas gifts on the hook already! lol...

I'm guessing you're talking about these:
http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60194AD.html
You can buy just the pattern for $3.95:
https://www.e-yarn.com/cgi-bin/checkout.cgi?qty=1&itemKey=1922239849&price=3.95&store=%2Fstores%2Feyarn&primaryStore=%2Fstores%2Feyarn&add_to_cart_and_order=1
You have a choice of download (the one I linked to) or a printed copy.
