I went back to try to find the conversation about the duck hat and I can't find it. I would like to get the pattern or buy the pattern if it is for sale. I think my 2 year old nephew would love it.

It was me, I confess

Thanks Rebecca for pointing Barbara in the right place. Barbara, if I can answer any questions, please let me know. As you can see, I didn't use a specific pattern but it was pretty easy.

Thanks for posting the link for the duck hat thread. I looked for the topic but did not see it. Is it archived somewhere or on a second page that I do not know how to get too?

I looked for the topic but did not see it. Is it archived somewhere or on a second page that I do not know how to get to? It is on page 7 of young girl cancer hat (http://p084.ezboard.com/fcrochetvillefrm23.showMessage?topicID=20.topic) topic, which is in the Seeking Patterns (http://p084.ezboard.com/fcrochetvillefrm23) forum.

I have a hat pattern for sale on my site and it looks just like the original posters. Odd.

I see a difference in the two duck hat styles. In all fairness, it is so easy to take a simple single crochet hat style and add duck features to it.

the bill is the only difference I see.

Things have not been easy in my crochet life lately. I guess I need to venture out away from the simple single crochet patterns.

Marlo, I'm sorry you think I was trying to rip you off. I just went to look at your site. Yes, they do look similar, but honestly, I was not aware you had that pattern there when I made mine. As I said in my original post, I saw this duck pattern and went with it from there.

You do have great stuff on your site, I'd hate for you to feel you shouldn't put things out there. I'm sorry if you feel like I stepped on your toes, it wasn't deliberate. Sometimes people can have similar ideas though. I'm not selling a pattern, I'm not selling the hat, I'm not benefiting in any way from this nor am I trying to harm anyone else. I was browsing CPC and saw something cute I thought would work on a hat for a sick little girl. I tried to give proper credit for the idea. I'm not sure what else I should have done.

I am not accusing you of anything, its just that these kind of things seem to keep happening to me.

I realize that people do think alike but it has happened to me an awful lot lately and I cant think that all of these other people have the same exact ideas as me all the time.

oh well back to my free form crochet. Not even I can make two free form items alike.
