actually, i guess i'm just seeking advice...
hubby and i are differing on this:
i am wanting to make a throw for my bed. should it be open and lacy of sorts, or solid??
here is my room... (the thread i will be using is that cone in the picture - tobacco (color) chenille.

Okay, you're making me think wayyyy too early in the morning. (I'm out West :) )
My first thought was that a solid throw would look better or a simple light and open design, nothing too frilly.
Now, I'm going to get back to my coffee and Sesame Street. :)

Hmm.... I usually prefer more solid things, but for your room, I think something that is more open would go nicer. Do you have spevific patterns in mind?
P.S. I like your bedspread:D

I think something more open, too.

It looks like the yarn color you have chosen goes very well with your room decor! I think your bedspread is very nice and would want to show through anything you put over it, so I would go for an open work stitch for a throw.

this is what i have come up with:
a fuller body with big lacy edge?
http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v254/rebeccav/crochet/picot_edging.jpg
maybe the center square out of (for those of you who have the 63 squares book)
#31, 13, 50, 48, 52 ???

If lacy is your preference, go for it! :) I like stitch #31, it seems it would work up easily and quite quickly with that stitch.

I think lacy and open would be pretty. As for the square numbers...I liked #'s 31 and 52...or were they 32 and 51? Whatever! :frog

Is this to lay over the whole bed or just a little something for when you are chilly?
If it's more decorative, my vote would be for something open so the spread shows through.
And I've gotta ask...do you make the bed up like that (tea tray included) every day or was that just for pictures
Y'all saw my desk, I am NOT showing you a picture of my bedroom lol!

it's just for decorative purposes....
and yes, i make my bed like that (tray included) every day.
it is the only place in the house that is mine and mine alone (well, hubby too). the furniture, bedding, windows, floor, all of it, top notch and gorgeous -all egyptian cotton and silk- truly stunning to see in person......
and it's the only room in the house like that :rofl

Wow! Sounds gorgeous!!! I would say lacey. Definatly. It would match the refined decor of the rest of the room in my opinion. From the pic you sent, it's gonna be beautiful!

Rebecca, your room is gorgeous! The yarn you picked looks perfect! Out of the square numbers you posted (#31, 13, 50, 48, 52), I like #13 (bushy stitch) best. :fluffy

thank you so much for your help on this one... like i said - this is important to me.... guess that's kinda corny-maybe selfish, but i really like to have my room so nice it took a year of saving to get all that i have in there. the kids have the rest of the house.. this one room is mine:fluffy and, bonus- you'd be amazed at what a nice, sultry bedroom does for your ummm 'nightlife':o
anyhow, proof - it's redone every day

Rebecca,
That was so cute to post proof, lol!
I think that is a great idea to have your own space. I wish I was disciplined enough to do it myself.
We're thinking about putting an addition on this fall, if it happens then I'll have a nice sized bedroom with big closet and our own big bathroom I might be more inspired then to put some decorating effort into it.
Right now we have a tiny room with one tiny closet and the bathroom is downstairs, blech!

I would settle for my own room, small or not! :p I have shared my room with at least one other person my whole life, except last summer when I came to florida and the three weeks when i was at school and my roommate moved out and the university had not assigned me a new one yet. But since it is all I know, I don't mind it too much:bigsmile .
Your bedroom is beautiful and if there is one place to indulge yourself it is in the bedroom.
