I just found out that Michael's is having a sale on the TLC Amore yarn...marked down to $4.47 each! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/woohoo2.gif" />
I love the feel of this yarn but don't have any patterns to use with it.
Does anyone know if this yarn would make a good afghan? Or is it mainly used for clothing? <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/scratchhead.gif" />
And if anyone can point me in the right direction for an afghan pattern using this yarn I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thanks!
P.S. The also have Patons Grace on sale for $3.67 and Bernat Cottontots for $2.77... I can't wait to go!! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rocking.gif" />

In my Herrschner's (http://www.herrschners.com) catalog there's a beautiful afghan using TLC Amore called Amore Tiles (http://www.herrschners.com/products/product.aspx?sku=201380&q=RA201380&tab=). It doesn't come in just a pattern, though, but at least it's pretty to look at. :)

There is a pattern in the holiday issue of FC Easy Knitting, two different circular motifs using 4 sk of lt green, 3 each of dk green and ecru, and 1 of yellow. They aren't colors that were appealing to me, but I liked the idea of Amore in an afghan.
I found this back issue of FCEK at LYS in Salt Lake while we were traveling. It's the Holiday '03 copy.

Jayme:
I just purchased 4 skeins of black TLC Amore, to make myself a wrap/shawl/stole (hahah.. whatever!). When I saw it was on sale... I nearly fainted. hahaha! <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif" />
I've worked with it before, but only made a scarf. It works up really REALLY easy! and is so nice and soft! I think it would make a very scrumptious afghan.. or at least a smaller throw for over the legs.
Please share... if you end up doing an afghan. I'd like to hear how it comes out!

I ended up going to Michael's on my way home from class today... shhh don't tell hubby <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/ha.gif" />
I bought 9 skeins of the TLC Amore, 4 of the Sand color and 5 of the Garnet (it kind of looks like garnet and gold, in other words FSU!!) Hubby is sure to like it when it's finished, maybe he won't even ask when I bought it! hehe
I will probably make some kind of afghan/throw with it, if I need more I may buy another skein or two but at least I got the majority of it for a reasonable price. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/cheerleader.gif" />
I also picked up some Bernat Cottontots, 3 skeins, 2 skeins were only $2 and the other was $2.77... not too shabby!
Thanks for everyones input!
By the way, I'm still kind of new to crochet, but can someone recommend what size hook I should use with this yarn and what stitches would probably be the best? Right now I'm favoring double crochet but I don't know if I want to do DC for this afghan...
