:loco FINALLY!
I never thought I was gonna be able to finish this sweater! I wove in all the ends and pressed the collar and lower front and bottom trim, but I don't have the black ribbon to tie it "closed" so I used a piece of tulle I had. so if the picture looks blurry? its where the tulle is !
Anywho! Here's the front...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/viviskins/cd8e8712.jpg
and here's the back...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/viviskins/5594340a.jpg
I have been so busy, and I haven't written down the pattern for it yet, I hope to do it sometime soon. I ended up using an H hook and lion brand baby yarn. It barely fits me, but I hear the "shrunken jacket" is in yeah whatever....

Ooooh! Pretty! :)) It looks good. It will look even better with the black ribbon.
Don't know if I would have the courage to wear it though. I tend to stay away from tight fitting items.

I think that's gorgeous. And you're right, a black ribbon would totally pull it off! I wish I could wear that to a wedding I *have* to go to this weekend. I have the PERFECT shoes to match it too!! Hmmm, :idea guess the only solution is to wait for your pattern to come out so I can make one for myself!!!:frog

Thank you so much everyone, I really appreciate all your comments!:cloud9 I'm a size 12 if that helps anyone, :lol , doesn't help me much, rofl, but hey!
I really enjoy this stitch, the Solomon's knot or Love knot stitch. I saw a video tutorial which helped me learn how to do it, for those of you who are interested..if I can find the link I'll put it up in here or the patterns forum. Its not as hard as it looks! :clap
It doesn't take alot of yarn to make this sweater, I would say on average...mmm it took me about 700 yards of Lion Brand Baby yarn...? The part that was the hardest to figure out was the decreasing and increasing...while you're doing it, it doesn't look right, but after a few rows have passed you can see it begin to look right...
I'm gonna work on the pattern today and should have it up by tomorrow...wish me luck :lol

That is gorgeous, but the Love Knot totally scares the bejesis out of me! How do you do that stitch??????
I love the color, too.
I'll have to post my second draped bed jacket I did with a different yarn and larger hook.....I forgot to take pics of that the other day! It turned out a lot more relaxed and comfy......you are inspiring me.....stop it! LOL

thank you three olive martini!!! I finally found the link and its already here so thanks for finding it in my absence!:)h
Sorry for the delay in getting this pattern up. Today the kids are home from school and I watch my nephew today too! Woo Hoo! 5 kids running around! Pass the Ritalin! :lol Anyway...I'm feeling very uh unsure of myself about this pattern...I don't know exactly how I did it..:lol and I'm trying my best to write a coherent pattern...:help Because I spent a lot of time pulling out and starting over (when I was doing the shaping?) Wow its hard to follow...and I'm kinda afraid no one will understand my ramblings:? If a more experienced pattern writer who is familiar with the love knot stitch could help me word it better, I'd appreciate it...I did things more by measurements than stitch count...
I'm seriously considering making another one, in some yarn that I have in my stash (gasp!) and writing everything down as I go, which would be way easier, and probably ALOT more easy to understand...while I figure it out, practice the stitch in the tutorial, that way you'll be ready! I promise promise PROMISE I will not flake-out on ya'll and leave you hanging...
Thanks for being such a great group!:grouphug
BTW if you are familiar with the love knot stitch or the double love knot which is basically the same, its just two love knot stitches in succession of each other...see what I mean about confusing...but if you know what I"m talking about, email me at viviskins@yahoo.com and maybe you can proof read this pattern for me? Thanks again!:)h

okay :lol I started a new cardigan cuz it was waaaay to hard to decifer the stitches and shaping increases/decreases just looking at the sweater...I'm almost done the back and i'm sure I'll be done the sleeves by tonight. I'm hoping to have the pattern completely written up and proofread etc by Friday. I'm using worsted weight this time, just cause its what I have.

Okay, lemme just say that was extremely hard! :lol I'm having Lynda (not sure of her screen name here) proofread it. I didn't finish the cuffs, collar or bottom trim, but I'm gonna work on that this weekend if I can. Once she's done proofreading, I'll post it in the Free Patterns forum, and add the cuffs, collar and bottom trim later. :))

I am so anxiously awaiting this pattern along with everyone else! Would be great to use on a daily basis for work. It's always just cold enough to be uncomfortable here so that any kind of sweater or jacket that I wear makes it too hot. Go figure...

It's gorgeous! I'm new to crochet, so I'd better have a look at that tutorial since the love knot seems to scare a lot of folks. I figure if experienced crocheters are intimidated by it, it'll be dang near impossible for me, LOL. But I
MUST have that sweater, so I'll try until I pull my hair out. :lol

Thanks for waiting everyone! I'm going to post the pattern for this cardigan in the original patterns forum, but I would love for someone to test it for me if they have time. I took the shawl collar out of the pattern..although its really 'in' right now, I just wanted to keep it as simple as possible. And y'all are creative enough that I'm sure you'll come up with you own stuff, which I can't wait to see!:cheer2
