We all love to see each other's crocheted work! :clap Posting a photo at Crochetville is easy! Just follow these simple steps.

1. First, your photo must exist somewhere on the web. Your photos can't be seen on the web if they are only on your home computer; you must upload them to a space on the web. If you don't have a space on the web for your photos, you can sign up for a free account at image-hosting web sites such as photobucket.com (http://photobucket.com/). They make it easy to upload your photos from your computer to the web.

Note: Crochetville can not host your photos for you, sorry! That would use a lot of our bandwidth and would be very, very expensive for us! :eek

Important! Please resize your image so it is not huge. Go to this, How to Resize Your Photos (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41), to find out how.

2. After you have your photo on the web, it will have an address (URL) like the following fictitious examples:

Example 1:
http://www.mycrochetstuff.com/images/cute_hat.jpg
Example 2:
http://img99.photobucket.com/albums/v99/mycrochetstuff/cute_hat.jpg
Once you know the URL for your photo, right-click to copy the URL so you can paste it as instructed in the next step.

3. Start making a post at Crochetville, and look above the box you type in. There will be several buttons, including the one for posting images (it is yellow, with a little mountain on it and will say "Insert Image" when you mouseover it - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v133/yarngirl/blog%20graphics/insertimage.gif). Type your message. When you get to the point where you want to add the photo, click the http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v133/yarngirl/blog%20graphics/insertimage.gif button above. A little window will pop up and you can paste the URL in there and click OK.

4. You're done! Before you click the "Submit New Thread" button, you'll want to click the "Preview Post" button. That way you can see your message as it will look when it's posted. If it's not right, you'll have the opportunity to edit it. Of course, you can always edit it after it's posted as well.
