Hello, I am looking for all your wise advice. Many of you have been doing this for a while and have made some amazing things. :clap
I am searching for some patterns. I am far from my family so my parents called a relative and she called us to invite us to spend x-mas at her house. I would like to bring her a nice funky gift for her house since she is only in her 40's. I only have a week (as you all know).
Thanks Greentea

Here are a couple of hat and scarf patterns, that are easy and shouldn't take much yarn or time. You don't have to use the yarn they say.
Just and idea.:hook

A Basket of crocheted fruit!
Chose the fruit patterns you like such as a banana, apple, & a pear. Put in a cute basket bought at the dollar store & put a nice Christmas bow on it.

It's not funky, but if they drink a nice bottle of wine with a crochet wine bag is nice - Cupcake's pattern is on her blog and there are more at CPC

I'm with theworm - a nice beaded topper or bag with a bottle of wine (or sparkling cider!) is both traditional and funky at the same time :U I like to get local wines for hostess gifts out of the area.
Here's a link to cupcake's pattern that theworm mentioned: http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/2006/11/happy-bottle-bags-free-crochet-pattern.html

Yup! I agree with Katecrochets and theworm on this one! Traditional and funky at the same time.....and you can make it quickly!!:yes Just be sure to scroll down for the American/Canadian terminology or it will come out all wrong!!:eek

what about crocheting a pretty border :yarn around a purchased christmas tablecloth, no-one likes to wash table linen over Christmas, so extra covers are always welcome :hug .
