At least that's what I think it is. I found this, and can't remember how I did that, but I'm liking this pattern. It's just a picture page, not a blog page, and I don't think I can figure out how to find Ms. Lady to ask her whether this is something she found or if she made it up herself.

If anyone knows of anything similar, I'll dance at your next wedding.

One of my friends is 3 months pregnant, and I calculate that will give me just about enough time to get something ready to give her!

DameErin that looks like a doily patterns that has been made up with yarn. It is beautiful, the colors and the design is lovely. I think your friend would love a afghan that is that beautiful.

DameErin, I love your work! It is so beautiful! It does look like a doily made with yarn to me also. I am wondering where to find the patterns for the different 6 point and the 8 point round blankets too? Thanks! ;)

It's funny you should say that, because that's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe a bigger hook and some sport weight yarn?

I just can't find a pattern that is close to that.

I can't take credit for that, but somebody really does do good work! I'm just looking for a "close to" pattern. I want to try to make one for a pregnant friend.

How about these patterns... Web Lace (http://www.freepatterns.com/fp_pdfs/Other/Crochet/Web_Lace_Doily.pdf) or Pinwheel Doily (http://www.freepatterns.com/fp_pdfs/Other/Crochet/pinwheel_doily.pdf).

Oh, that is beautiful! Now I will have to look through all my doily patterns to see if I have it.

Hi I understand that this pattern is not really what you are looking for, but it shows how a small thread doily can be made into a much larger yarn project.....once you do a few calculations, the sky's the limit with all the doily patterns around!!

I think this might have been a porch doily pattern which she made some changes to. I have a leaflet from annie's attic called Crochet Porch Doilies, and the one called Step Into Sunshine is identical to what you showed us, except she has rounded off the side.

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas! Now all I need is to pick out the yarn, decide on the size hook and get busy.

One more question I just thought about and it's probably stupid. If I make up a blanket with "holes" in it, is it possible for a baby to hurt themselves in it? I don't have any kids, so I don't have any frame of reference. I figure they won't strangle themselves or anything permanent, but getting a finger broken, a foot all tangled up, or something like that?

:think

Yes they can but normally parents don't leave them alone with this type of cover. This is something for a special outing or a light throw over the bassient or a soft place to lay on a rug. :)
