It was from an issue of Crochet Magazine, I believe. I think the issue was about a year old.

it's about a foot tall, 7-8 inches diameter. it holds all my stuff easily. and the pattern was actually very easy to follow. i sometimes have trouble with rounds, but this was pretty easy and enjoyable.
